I love both of these songs, so this was probably the most difficult vote yet. I love the American Idiot album as a whole more, but I had to go with 21st Century Breakdown. It's just so epic, the opening build-up is so powerful and it pumps you up like crazy. The way it transitions to almost completely different songs is wonderful, and the lyrics are great.

American Idiot was one of the first Green Day songs i heard.

At the time, my reaction was like 'Meh'.

I do like the song as it has been growing on me but 21st Century Breakdown is my favourite of the two.
