stuart telegraph Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 In the last few days I have heard Restless Heart Syndrome twice on Chicago's WXRT 93.1. Both time I caught it midsong, so I haven't heard any introduction. This station typically plays lesser known non hits, but still, I thoufght Last of the American Girls was the next single. Has any one else heard this or other songs not usually played on the radio?
AleKerplunk Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 not new song but yeah old song... like When i Come Around. F.O.D, Welcome To Paradise... all Nimrod album and some song of Shenanigans... was really weird
Izzard Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 not new song but yeah old song... like When i Come Around. F.O.D, Welcome To Paradise... all Nimrod album and some song of Shenanigans... was really weird When I come around, welcome to paradise, and FOD are all off dookie
Moxy Crimefighter Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 I've heard the entire album on radio. Let me tell you, the Static Age has an incredibly sense of irony when played and followed by ten minutes of ads.
Sanity Loan Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 I've heard the entire album on radio. Let me tell you, the Static Age has an incredibly sense of irony when played and followed by ten minutes of ads. Haha I bet it does
Laura! Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 I've heard a lot of non-single songs on XM radio. I heard LOTAG way before it was announced as a single, I've heard Murder City and Horseshoes and Handgrenades. There's this one station on XM that I've heard a live version of When I Come Around, I can't remember where it was from but it's older. But on regular radio I've just heard the singles. 87X out of Detroit likes to play She a lot.
Spider Tre Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 you guys are lucky. they only play the singles on the radio i listen to
The Breakdown Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 They play East Jesus Nowhere here even though it isnt a single here if that counts.
AleKerplunk Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 When I come around, welcome to paradise, and FOD are all off dookie i know that but is really uncommon in here. with lucky you can hear some songs of American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown
Spider Tre Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 all the Green Day they play here are Basket Case, Longview, She, Welcome To Paradise, Brain Stew/Jaded, American Idiot, Holiday, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, WMUWSE, 21 Guns, Know Your Enemy, and East Jesus Nowhere not very much and they're all singles. well it's better than no Green Day at all
bjrules Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 They only play singles around here The most exciting song that I've ever heard on the radio around here was Warning about 3 months ago.
theeulogy Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 They're not often on the radio here, you know:( But I've heard Basket Case,When I Come Around ,4 most popular AI songs, EJN and 21Guns. You can hear Lady Gaga or Britney Spears much often:(
Isabel Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 I never hear Green Day on Irish radio...but I don't listen to the radio that much, so.... Although there's this station called Phantom FM and if you text in, they'll almost always play a GD song for you. One time, about 4 years ago, I texted in and asked them to wish Tre Cool a very happy birthday. They read out the whole text, said happy birthday to him, and then played Redundant. it was so beautiful
leacalifornia Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 you guys are lucky. they only play the singles on the radio i listen to same. is it just me or do you sometimes just sense that a green day song is gonna be on the radio at that particular time...
Princess Consuela Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 I think the rarest thing I heard on a radio here was Mother Mary. And I heard LOTAG followed by Murder City before it was announced to be a single. I SO freaked out.
Rebel07 Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Kansas City radio stations suck, I'm lucky to even hear 21 Guns I prefer just to not ever listen to the radio
Kaddi. Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Yeah, I heard the 21 Guns musical version some days ago. And 21st CB, but I don't know if that's rare. My favorite radio station also plays songs like Basket Case, When I Come Around and Good Riddance... I know they're all singles, but they're usually not played anymore since they're so old.

Has any one else heard this or other songs not usually played on the radio? I heard it too. We must listen to the same station at the same time!! In fact in the last week or so, everytime I've gotten in my car with my husband a Green Day song has come on. I've been starting to think he's got good song karma!
Sanity Loan Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 When 21st Century Breakdown came out, AltNation on Sirius XM played a lot of the songs.
Just Kate Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 my radio is pretty cool (it's just local from nearby city) i hear Waiting, Warning, Holiday, WMUWSE, BOBD, When I Come Around Basket Case, 21st Century Breakdown, 21 Guns, Peacemaker, LOTAG, maybe Longview from time to time. so that's on the day on the evenings (almost each is rock night with unreleased songs) King For A Day live BIB and some more songs i just don't remember now, but there's really lots of them depending on theme of the broadcast, but mostly i'm the lucky one they even play Billy Talent which is really amazing to me, cos i can't find them anywhere but my Winamp... and some Foxies (no Network or Pinheads unfortunately)
Banan Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 They mostly play the hit songs here, but thats okay because they're all amazing. But i'd really like to hear The Static Age, Murder City and !Viva La Gloria! .. Haha, and every single time we're in sweden, and have the radio on, they play either a crappy trance song, Nickleback OR 21 Guns
Ally Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 the only ones i have heard on the radio round here are boulevard and good riddance.
Smoothed Out Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 I heard Lights Out on Kerrang! radio the other day!! Green Day are under the spotlight this week so they are playing b-sides, remixes etc. Then I've heard just the usual singles stuff
