Burge Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 But my God, aren't those songs some of the most awesome, catchy GD songs you've ever heard? A seriously disjointed, yet highly enjoyable record. The last non-rock opera the boys will ever produce. Such a great album (but aren't they all?).
theeulogy Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Waning is my favorite albim (well, after AI:)) that's for sure.
elisa Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 I dont think it has no 'cohesiveness'. but yes, it really is an amazing album.
The Disappearing Boy Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 who's to say they will never produce another non rock opera album?
Burge Posted February 28, 2010 Author Posted February 28, 2010 I guess we've been spoilt over the last 2 albums with their flowing narative, its hard to see them going back to just writing individual songs and putting them together to form an album. I think Billie has gone on record saying he wants to now make albums which tell a story rather than just fit together as a selection of songs.
Metanoia Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 I really do think its underrated too........i eman if you just listen through it you hear the awesomeness right away
Thececilie Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 warning is the album that you can sing along to. you dont have to use that much brain to get the lyrics, but the songs still have a message, that a lot of people can realated to. i think warning is totally underrated. its me third favourite album. 21st first then AI and then warning XD
Guest FlirtyDutherMucker Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 I swear i thought this topic was gonna be a anti-green day rant
RobyRoom Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 It's an amazing album, my favorite, but I'm sure it won't be the last non rock opera album.
Maddy. Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 I've never really liked Warning as much as their most recent albums.
Minority_GD Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Sure, it's a great, underrated album. But I don't think we need a thread to discuss that.
elisa Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 I swear i thought this topic was gonna be a anti-green day rant haha me too!
Burge Posted February 28, 2010 Author Posted February 28, 2010 I swear i thought this topic was gonna be a anti-green day rant But weren't you glad it wasn't?
champagne mami Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 I really love Warning, one of my favorite GD albums. I swear i thought this topic was gonna be a anti-green day rant Ha, that's what i thought too.
i_wanna_see_the_light Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Great ALbum, great lyrics!!!! "Today is the first day of the rest of our lifes" "I want to be the minority" Just brilliant!
Vespertine Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Warning is an album with a bunch of songs with no cohesiveness I don't agree. Anyway, Warning is an amazing album. It's one of my favorites
greendaytone Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 It is the most 'no mans land' type Green Day album, a really pivotal point in the career though, and i love the album. Castaway and Church On Sunday are anthems!
gdpony Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 warning was the album that got me into green day ... its very special for me but its not my fav album ... I specially love: warning, minority, fashion victim, and blood sex and booze its a great album
Burge Posted February 28, 2010 Author Posted February 28, 2010 It is the most 'no mans land' type Green Day album, a really pivotal point in the career though, and i love the album. Castaway and Church On Sunday are anthems! As much as I can't stand some GD songs that become massive singles, Minority is a landmark track. Whatever was happening in your life at the time that song was released, you remember exactly what was happening at the time.
Alan86 Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Warning is my favourite album. Every song on it is fantastic. I wish they'd play more songs from it in their shows. Minority is the only regular on the set list.
Just Kate Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 yeah, ther're awesome and so unique. i don't know any other band making songs like these. there's really nothing they could fuck up
Maddy. Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Macy's Day Parade will always remain my favourite.
Guest FlirtyDutherMucker Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 But weren't you glad it wasn't? Absolutely. Irony is never a good thing
