parinaz Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 for those who don't know Piero Scaruffi ,he is an Italian critic and writer. the thing that made me open a thread about this is because he is a very professional critic in music and I followed his critics about Green Day till a few months ago but when I checked his website today I got a new update about 21st century breakdown.although some other professional critics like Pitchfork or sputnik music didn't rate the new album so high we can be optimistic about this one so check it out here.
Guest Shangri-La Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 i like what he had to say even if his ratings suck. thanks parinaz
parinaz Posted January 26, 2010 Author Posted January 26, 2010 you're welcome. well he is ssoooo strict in rating and we should be so thankful about his rating about the new album a 6/10 rating is something like Rolling stone's 9/10 He rated the bands like Muse Radiohead coldplay and U2's new album almost less than 5.
RobyRoom Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Thanks for the link, glad he likes the refrain of Little girl, is one of my favorite as well
The Disappearing Boy Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 nice review. surprised he didn't metniton the static age
parinaz Posted January 26, 2010 Author Posted January 26, 2010 and 21 guns as well. I wish I could understand the previous reviews as well.
cherylr Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Actually, it seems like he likes it. I agree with him about "Last Night on Earth". The first time I heard it, I thought "sounds like John Lennon." "Peacemaker" doesn't sound like Country & Western to me. It sounds like I'm at someone's Bar Mitzvah. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE "Peacemaker".

I think my head would explode if I heard them play it live. Thanks, Parinaz, I'll check out the review.

Perhaps we could get together and entice them to play Peacemaker on the promise that they'd have two 45-year-old women with their heads exploding.
i_wanna_see_the_light Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Maybe a classical piece gets a higher rate than a rock song But well, he didn't write a negative thing about it!
Peace and Rainbows Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 what a dumbfuckI don't think that dude likes musicOh well Entertaining read
HoneyDo666 Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I adore 21CB! It gets a 10/10 anyday!Also, I think it's more ambitious than AI. More experimentation.
Sharmellow Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Glad he at least likes some of the songs off of 21stCB. I attempted to read the other ones through google translation, but half of it didn't make sense. xD
parinaz Posted January 26, 2010 Author Posted January 26, 2010 what would you say about this then?edit: I just realized i have a misspelling in the title.
Guest Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 At least he's honest, unlike other reviews where they just say it's dreadful or say it's amazing.
parinaz Posted January 26, 2010 Author Posted January 26, 2010 well I think he's as one of those critics who doesn't sell the good criticism for money.
Smoothed Out Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I found that quite interesting, thanks for posting Parinaz
Conspiracy. Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 what would you say about this then?edit: I just realized i have a misspelling in the title. xD. I kinda love this. How negative it is all the time. When I read the first sentence, I had to laugh so hard! I mean, seriously, "Green Day is dead." WTF?!? Amusing.
Sharmellow Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 what would you say about this then?edit: I just realized i have a misspelling in the title. Omg. Ahaha, that was actually pretty amusing, then again, it's sputnik. My favorite line: 21st Century Breakdown sounds less like a Green Day record and more like a parody, except no one is laughing.
Prisca Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Thanks for posting. I'll check it out before I start studying for my finals.
Nikki_Nimrod Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Thanks for posting, that was definitely interesting I like reading reviews, especially if they're well thought out like that. (even though i may not agree with it!)
Hermione Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 what a dumbfuckI don't think that dude likes musicI agree. what would you say about this then?Haha
Guest Shangri-La Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 what would you say about this then?edit: I just realized i have a misspelling in the title. "He Adam Downered his original assessment."that comment alone made it worth reading haha
