The Disappearing Boy
A little bit miffed with Green Day?Or more specifically their management/WMG.I mean, number one. Rumours that there are gonna be no more singles. I mean what?!?! the single choice so far has been pretty bad (with the exception of Breakdown) and there needs to be one or two more i would say.And equally annoyingly, there are now no more tour dates until the 11th June. Besides one Grammy performance. Ok, they may want to take february off, that makes sense, but if that were the case, then they would resume playing in March, and we would have the tour dates by now, wouldn't we. I can't remember how far back the other tours were announced.I just get the feeling that Warner is trying to bring this Green Day era to an end prematurely, coz it hasn't done too brilliantly in the charts, i just get the feeling Warner are trying to wrap it all up.Am I the only one?Or am I just paranoid.....? Chelsea Hotel
Just paranoid. This happens a lot with musicians not being promoted.

Juliette
Well, Warner do seem a bit shit. I agree with the singles / promotion side of things, it just seems like they're not trying at all. Though I think it's fair that they take time off - they've been touring for months, it's an exhausting job which must be hard on their families, they have the right to a few months off before starting again. And I'm sure that more dates will be announced after they've gone home, had a rest and started to think about touring again which they probably haven;t really thought much about yet seeing as they only finished what, today ? bass boy
i actually agree with you Nick. Warner is an evil company. they just want money. they dont give a shit about people. just them selves. but who knows, mabey the guys will be filming in March. you never know. The Disappearing Boy
i ger what people are saying about the whole 'break in touring' thing, but i don't think green day are that type of band. Sure they have 6 weeks or so between legs of the tour, but 2 or 3 months? it just doesn't seem like them.
Princess Consuela
Where did you hear there won't be any more singles? As far as I remember European dates were released around April so it was 6 months before the tour. I am impatiently waiting for them to give us some more details about the second leg of tour but I don't think they will end up now.Oh and East Jesus Nowhere was the best choice for a single ever
Guest
i feel ya,Warner looks like theyre starting to dislike our boysthe other bands on the warner records seem to be do fine BUT Green Day
farley drexel hatcher
They have time to announce dates yet, even if the shows are not till April or May. They probably want to leave March or April free to be on hand for the musical going to Broadway.Besides, even if we don't know dates yet, we don't know what they have planned. June is still a long way away. That said I agree with the promotion side of things. It's been properly botched up this album.

They deserve to have some time off and get ready for the rest of the tour. I don't mind 3-month break as far as I am sure I will see them again.Does anyone know how long was their break during AI tour?
Isabel
With regards to the singles/videos aspect...I agree that they were terrible choices, but it's not something I think anyone should dwell on. I highly doubt they intentionally said "Ok, lets release a mediocre single with a bland video to go along with it!" They might have foreseen it to be more successful than it was. They're only human after all, people can get it wrong. As for tour dates? They can't please everyone. It's just a case of having patience. I know that may sound rich coming from me who has 4 shows lined up next June, but I know what it's like having to just wait. I had to wait almost 5 years to see them after the AI tour. S'just the way the cookie crumbles :/
Rosie May
I don't particularly like Warner either (especially because of the "Heart Like A Handgrenade" stuff), I think they should at least release another single, they 18 songs on the album, there's a lot they could release. I think/hope there might be some more dates between now and the summer that haven't been annouced yet.
J'net
i ger what people are saying about the whole 'break in touring' thing, but i don't think green day are that type of band. Sure they have 6 weeks or so between legs of the tour, but 2 or 3 months? it just doesn't seem like them.Keep in mind the AI musical starts previews on Broadway in March and opens in April. The band has been very involved in this musical, and I think they will continue to be. My guess - and it's really just a guess - is that we might see some dates somewhere in May at the earliest - and it's not too early to announce those. But if they wait till June to start touring again, they will be busy doing something else. You can count on it.As for Warner, I don't think they've done a great job at all - but I don't think there's any ulterior motive behind it. It's probably just the general level of incompetence that so many people seem to be sinking to these days.I'm going to add a meaningful subtitle to this thread so people don't have to guess what it's about .Edit: Or we could just delete my whole post and read Tedifer's instead . Green Day Cellist
I do agree that Green Day deserves a break, they've been on the road for quite a long time. I'm really honestly wondering if they are going to do anymore shows in America, you would think that there would be tour dates posted already....... they better come back and tour here- or I'll be flippin' pissed

Robin105
I remember the exact date the 1st tour was announced. It was April 20. (because of 4/20. u know pot smoking day) and there first show of the tour was July 3. So about 2 months after the dates were announced the tour started. Now the American Idiot Musical is coming to Broadway the end of March. So they probably won't be touring in March. My guess is either Februrary or March we may get dates if they do it 2 months in advance again. That would mean April and May for US, and June and July for Europe and maybe August and September for Australia. And also don't forget they haven't toured South America yet.And of course there will be more singles. There's going to be more albums probably too. Warner is just a shitty label. Billie even said "Nobody leaves this band unless it's in a body bag."

Isabel
The only thing that has ever proper annoyed me about GD/Warner Bros is when they wouldn't allow their Oxegen or T in the Park footage to be broadcasted on MTV back in 2005 because they would be releasing HLAHG at Christmas time and they were worried it would affect sales. BS
ANJI
I hope the rumour of them not releasing a new single is not true! As for the tour, they definitely need a break and they said they will announce the 2nd leg of the tour...as far as i can remember, they announced the first leg of the tour around mid april so yeh something will come up soon!
