if you could make a music video for ANY green day song what would the video be like?

i would make one for last of the american girls so just have gloria walking around and anything she touches or walks past it turns into something beautiful and have shots of green day as well

and then have one right after for murder city for Christan where anything he touches or walks pasts gets burnt, killed etc

a music video for roshambo in a very light white room ,and all of the guys in their mask except billie. this makes it a little bit in illusion like basket case.

I would have done EJN. I have an idea that involves the guys playing the roles of TV evangelists which eventually ends in a riot and stuff being burnt to the ground. It would probably be too x-rated to go on tv to be honest.

I love making up videos for their songs. I had an idea for restless heart syndrome. I imagine that at one bit Gloria would be in a bathroom looking all depressed and stuff, she'd look in the mirror and at the "Know Your Enemy" line Billie Joe would appear in her mirror and sing it. Then she'd smash the mirror and things would explode and pills would spill out all over the place, the bathroom wall would collapse and the band would be behind it. Yeah, it's kinda hard to explain but it was cool in my head. I had another one for Whatsername but that's even more complicated.

OMG, I HAD THE SAME IDEA (about the mirror-smash)

For murder city, it would be something like Christian crying in the bathroom and Gloria more than desperate outside, with the riots and all. And I want a REALLY controversial video for EJN. Something like Billie trying to convert Mike into one religion, while Tré is trying to convert him into another religion. In the end, both BJ and Tré end up kissing each other, like the politicians on 21stCB.

And I NEED a video of American Eulogy, so the world can know that Mike sings. Something like Christian and Gloria watching TV, where BJ is singing, till the start of modern world, where Christian decide to turn off the TV and Mike appears singing somewhere else

^ I'd do Murder City. The video for that plays out in my head so easily, because it's literally just taking what Billie is singing and putting it into a scene, Billie being the "narrator", I guess. Billie always does a brilliant job of making you SEE what he's singing about.

Ooh, you know what? I'd love for it to be taking place in a rundown house, with fire, murder, mayhem, and riots outside the house. Christian would be, obviously, in the bathroom with Gloria sitting on the other side, sitting down with her back to the door, and have the video going back and forth between their scene and Green Day, who would be playing in the living room just down the hall from C&G.

Punkette292 - I LOVE your idea for Restless Heart Syndrome. It was sort of along the lines of how I imagined it playing out - love it.

Yay people like my idea I think a riot type thing would be cool for murder city. They really should remake EJN, that'#s such an amazing song, it needs a better video.

East Jesus Nowhere could have had a really fantastic video. Restless Heart Syndrome and iViva La Gloria! are other songs that would be awesome as a video. It would have been good if She had a video as well. Pre-Dookie songs, maybe Christie Road, 2000 light years away or Paper Lanterns would have been good if they were making videos back then.

I have tons of ideas, but this is by far my favorite

It would start off with a guy turning the dials of his TV and then close up of his eyes- which are full of static. (like the gas mask, ya'know?)

and it'll cut to more and more people doing the same thing, so there is an army of static eyed people.

The chorus will be the band beating the living crap out of televisions and other electronics with bats in slow motion.

Then in the second verse the static eyed people are marching through the city, I'd use really quick cuts and nice angle shots

Then back to the Chorus (still slow-mo smashing) ,

Then into the bridge they guys with a simple stage setup in a white room with a wall of old School TV sets burning behind them.

The very end would be the army of people waking up from the static hypnosis and looking around confused.
