Liam Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 does any one here have some sort of ritual they have a weeks or 2 before a concert like listen to an album each day or some thing like that
ANJI Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 I usually decide what I'm gonna wear and take there. I also listen to some songs which I'm kinda unfamiliar with from the band....
Isabel Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Well on this tour, my first concert was on the 20th of October so from the end of September until then, I only listened to Green Day. And I practiced Longview to absolute shit in case I got picked I also figured out where all the best spots were to stand, decided what to bring with me (because I would be going to 2 shows in a row) and talked incessantly about the whole thing in general to anyone who would listen
Maddy. Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 I just sit around and play playstation or something. Basically I was bouncing up and down all day and telling anyone who would listen I was going to Green Day that night.
PasalacquaBomb Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Well, I wasn't at a Green Day concert but at a concert of the German Rockband "Die Toten Hosen". A week before the concert I decided what I'd were then and learned some lyrics (weren't many - I know most of the lyrics ). A day before the concert I thought of request because I was standing very close to the stage. But they didn't hear my suggestion
Tiffx Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Watch some live videos, get excited but mostly anxious and count down the days. 2 days left by the way, I'm going crazy. I'm actually so anxious about seeing GD live this time that I've hardly been eating anything.
Astrid. Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 2 weeks is quite long.. I don't do anything different, just getting more and more excited for the actual day. 1 week before the show I'm gonna choose what I want to wear, what kind of attributes I'm taking (camera, breaklights etc.) 1 day before the show; I'm so excited I'll listen to their music all day long
Tashidge Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 If it's like a week to go - I don't listen to the band at all - it gets me too excited. On the day, I listen to nothing but the people I'm going to see. I ususally plan what I'm gonna wear [decide that it's gonna be hot in there no matter what I wear], how I'm gonna get to the venue and back.
Isabel Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Watch some live videos, get excited but mostly anxious and count down the days. 2 days left by the way, I'm going crazy. I'm actually so anxious about seeing GD live this time that I've hardly been eating anything. Yeah, I couldn't eat for like 3 weeks beforehand. I just felt uptight all the time
Mrs. Nobody Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 I remember 2 weeks beforehand just absolutely freaking out, bouncing off the walls and basically being in a state of disbelief. I kind of arranged what where the plans (bcause we had a 3 - which turned out into a 4 - hour drive), what i was going take, wear. I made a longview sign, bought some stupid glasses etc. Then the day before I was starting to freak out. Was i going to get crushed to death? Was i going to be near the front? And then the plan changed meaning we actually got to the venue at 6:30PM. So yeah, i was pretty nervous as hell and panicky xD
Opezi Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 well i just pump green day music through my ears all the time. and i dont stop thinking about the concert and then i freak out about what im gonna wear and stuff i was excited when i got to go see them i was just so ecstatic because it was hard to believe that i aws actually going to see them and it didnt get real for me until i saw the tour bus because once i did i was over i was like omg damn its green day!
Tiffx Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 I've been contemplating what to wear too. I made this shirt that says 'stop drop and roll' but it turned out really ugly so I'm not going to wear it lol. I bought a red boa so that's enough craziness.
BraedonHorbacio Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 I usually walk around looking for them. Last time I missed them by 20 minutes.
Princess Consuela Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Weird but I was listening to as little Green Day as possible before the show I went to. I also wasn't checking out every tour thread like I do now. I don't know why really, I guess I just didn't want to know what to expect in 100%. After the show I listened as much Green Day as possible. And started reading every tour thread. I was out of my mind for the next two weeks
Sara. Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 I was listening to Green Day all the time and I was a lot on GDC and I practised jos on guitar every day (they didn't even play that song )
greendaygal89 Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 decide what im gunna wear and generaly bounce off the walls with excitment lmao
minorityxdisturbed Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 I think what I'm gonna wear, reading the lyrics everyday and singing when I go for a walk And imaginig that I found them on the street
drumstick Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 does any one here have some sort of ritual they have a weeks or 2 before a concert like listen to an album each day or some thing like that well before Green Day....I was thinking about the concert day and night...and I was so excited ..of course I was listening to their records every day...that was nothing unusual I was planing what I'll wear and stuffs... ahh memories!
mr.mcdonlad Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 i don't know cuz i never been to green day concert. but i think ,i'm going to decide what i'm going to wear. it always be the first thing that i think about. haha
Tre_Gina Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 about a month before the gigs i constantly listen to them and my parents were getting annoyed with hpw much I talked about them e.g. i would tell them what happenned in all the gigs before 28/10/09 and the different setlists. I just talk about them constantly to anyone that will listen! x
poisonoak Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 talk 2 anyone who would and would not listen, make sure the people im going with know the band's songs just in case...and decide what to wear, which always turns out to be tank top and jeans
Nele Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 2 weeks is quite long.. So, I already know what I'm going to wear for Wembley.
Minority_GD Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 I learned the lyrics to the songs I don't hear that often. I practiced Jesus of Suburbia again and again. I dyed my hair. I lost weight. I jumped around hysterically. I skyped with all those amazing people I would meet at the concerts. Oh and on the day of the concert: Headbanging to Green Day in the car while my mum drove me to the venue.
valentinesandcigs Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 well first off i find the t shirt that has the bands name on it. i listen to the band im going to see only so i know all the songs. i listen to some of the opening bands music too so i know some stuff. and if its standing i figure out what time i should get there. and yeah thats about it
novacaine_kid Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 On this tour I downloaded a bunch of live bootlegs to get psyched and just watched videos on youtube. I was pretty busy most days in the week or 2 before the first show in London so that helped time go faster. The night before the gig though I couldn't sleep at all I was like an excited child at christmas. I love that feeling. And I cant wait for next summer to roll on so I can go through it all again.
