AlanJLegend Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Hey guys,I have a Green Day t-shirt that I don't really know the origins of. I was hoping somebody here might have some idea. The t-shirt in question is blue. Over the chest on the right it has the heart hand grenade logo, as well as saying 'Green Day local crew'. Obviously the hand grenade logo means it is from the American Idiot era but I am not sure of anything else. Was this something that could be regularly purchased at merch stands at concerts, or something that was given out for some reason? My friend managed to pick up for $10 at a garage sale.Any info would be cool,Thanks
tapdancingowl Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 So, I found a similar shirt from the Warning era on eBay, and the seller says "These T shirts cannot be bought in the shops as they are only provided to the crew provided to Green Day on the night of the show!"Who knows how accurate that is, but it sounds logical given the whole "local crew".
Psycho Britney Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 I saw one on ebay from the recent 21CB tour that's meant to be from the crew at the o2 arena, but I don't really know anything else.
fashionvictim86 Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 I see them all the time for Pop Disaster tour. But no, it's not something you could have purchased at a merch shop or store. It is a shirt only given to Green Day's crew that is helping with the show (however I never actually saw any of them wear one ).
Psycho Britney Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 I've just had a sneaky thought-if only the crew shirts didn't have the venue on! I'd love to buy one and try an sneak through as crew even if the name said Kevin or something!! That would be hilarious!! Could you imagine-they'd be like your called Kevin and you'd go yeah and.. .....sorry just my sense of humour!!
*withoutadoubt* Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 I bought one on eBay a while ago, and I was wondering the same thing. Mine is a heart grenade shirt, too, but it's red. I should've asked the seller, but I never thought of it. I never saw any of the crew wear a shirt like it either.
