Green Day Converts

Well I was thinking if anyone on here has managed to convince friends or family members into becoming Green Day fans-like taken them to a show or given them a cd. I've think I've got practically my whole family hooked on it just by playing the music constantly. And lately I've given my mum's friend a compilation disk of all their biggest hits (she was intrigued) and now she loves them.

Or maybe some people on here are converts, who never really bothered with them before but a friend got you into them or something.

Actually, I'm a convert myself I've never cared for rock music before. And I have never even heard about Green Day. But back in 2005 a friend of mine gave me American Idiot to listen and I've been into them since that time

I sorta made one of my friends semi-fan (she likes them now) by taking her to a concert and afterwards giving her a bunch of copied CD's. I never really asked about it, but she once mentioned she now likes them.

Which is quite an accomplishment as I fail at trying to make people like something, and she's mostly into pop and hiphop and that stuff.

Come to think about it, should ask her what she thinks of them now.

I used to listen to Green Day so much, and talk about them so much, my parents fell in love with them, haha. Achievement. Yay for me being an obsessive 11 year old.

ooooo yes! i just converted (haha) my best friend a few weeks ago. she pretty much hated them, but i took her to see the American Idiot play. first tho, i made her read all the lyrics, then i made her listen to the CD a bunch. i copied her some older albums too. now she loooves them. and she hates me for it she says they're her guilty pleasure band

i got her with The Network a few months ago too. and now she also loves Foxboro Hot Tubs. hahahaha i feel like those annoying churchy people that are always trying to convert people to their religion

Ymm, I convinced my sister, Mum and Dad. Sister by non stop listening to GD and parents by taking them to gig . My Mum is so fascinated of them now that she know all the facts about them . My Dad says all the time how cool band they are and how their rock is good one .

My dad didn't really care for them before, but now he likes some of their songs. My mom always liked Green Day, but she likes them more now. And I got my friend into them too; GD's now one of her favorite bands. She agreed to hold a Peacemaker sign the next time GD comes around. I'm pretty proud.

I remember back in 2005 and my mum was like "turn that crap off" when i was playing jesus of suburbia and now thats her favourite song My friend i went to see them with on the 30th oct wasnt a bit green day fan but she is now. How can you convert a majority?

Peolpe will always like pop music or crap music in general, because people thinks: music = fun without thinking. You can't change their mind, they don't search in music what I'm searching for :/

i took my parents to a cocert, now my mom considers herself a fan. my dad doesnt mind the either, but he already hear them before i got into them. hell, he even (unknowingly, it was a festival) went to one of their concerts

One of my good friends used to hate them, and she'd always say they sucked around me. Then I got her to go with me to the concert in July and since then she had me burn their CD's for her and she likes them now. I have yet to get her to love them.

Well, he isn't really a fan, but he'd like to go to another concert (and will be going with me to Paris : D) and likes the music. And he found out he already knew a couple Dookie songs.

Just my mom. She just put some Green Day songs on her new MP3 player...I was so proud

I'm trying to convert my brother, so I'm writing him a 4 page paper about why I love Green Day so much. After he reads it, he might even become a fan himself.
