Liam Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Yes people it was four years ago today that Dean Gray released American Edit. For those of you that don't know what it is, it's a remix album of American Idiot released by Party Ben and team9 under the name Dean Gray. You can read the full story here I know its not exactly Green Day but i thought i might aswell make this thread.

Nobody_Likes_You Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I didn't like it that much honestly.E:YAY, 1000 posts
Maddy. Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I didn't like it that much honestly.E:YAY, 1000 postsCongrats. LOL Dean Gray? xD
Sarahnade. Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Whoooo.I like some of the songs. Letterbomb was destroyed, though.
Juliette Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Can you listen to this online anywhere ? I've only heard a couple of the songs & didn't realise there were more...
Maddy. Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Whoooo.I like some of the songs. Letterbomb was destroyed, though. What happpened to Letterbomb?
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Eh, congrats I guess.I can't remember how any of the songs sounded apart from Boulevard of Broken Songs and that there was some song mixed with Bohemian Rhapsody, can't remember which one though xDOh and that JOS or whatever it's name on it confused me.
gabbag Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Some of them are really cool (like Boulevard of Broken songs and a couple others) but some of them annoy me
Sarahnade. Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Sanne, Give Me Novacaine was mixed with Bohemian Rhapsody. I think that's one of the best. What happpened to Letterbomb? It was mixed with some Ashanti song. Letterbomb is cut out pretty bad; it's just the guitar lightly behind her singing, mostly. Billie sings the "where will all the martyrs go" part, but that's about it. It's the worst one, which sucks, since it's one of the best songs.Holiday, Novocaine, WMUWSE, and Whatsername are good, imo.
Katarina. Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Oh no, didn't he made Boulevard Of Broken Songs? I HATE that song.
Velocity Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I actually really liked this "album". Especially American Jesus, Boulevard of Broken Songs, The Bad Homecoming, Novocaine Rhapsody, Greenday Massacre, and the remix of Whatsername. I thought the whole thing was really creative, I remember wishing I had the ability to make remixes of my own, because I would have done some myself using the songs from American Idiot along with other songs I knew.I think it'd be cool to see how Dean Gray would remix 21CB.
Sarahnade. Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 ^I love how Bad Homecoming combines Are We the Waiting and Homecoming. It's so pretty, and works so well together.
Just Overjoyed Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 I really liked this project. Boulevard of Broken Songs, Dr. Who on Holiday and a few others came out really well.I feel like they murdered Letterbomb and Jesus of Suburbia though. For those of you looking for the music, you can hear all of the songs here: http://webfeedcentral.com/more/dean-gray/
Chelsea Hotel Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 My favorites are The Bad Homecoming (Waiting) and Impossible Rebel, and Whatsername (Susanna Hoffs). Letterbomb could have been done better, though.
ifmemoryserves Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Wait, what exactly is Boulevard of Broken Songs?I might know but I don't want to make a fool out of myself.
Chelsea Hotel Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Wait, what exactly is Boulevard of Broken Songs?I might know but I don't want to make a fool out of myself. It's a mashup of BOBD, Wonderwall, Dream On, and Writing to Reach You.
ifmemoryserves Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 It's a mashup of BOBD, Wonderwall, Dream On, and Writing to Reach You.Okay, yeah, that's what I thought.I have that on my iPod. I like it...
Supermodel*Robot Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 I only ever heard boulevard of broken songs. Does anyone know where I can listen to the rest?
Sarahnade. Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 ^Go to the site Just Overjoyed posted a few posts up.But you can probably find them on LimeWire or something. I downloaded the songs from somewhere a while ago.I don't really like what they did to She's a Rebel either. It's just..blah.
spark in the night Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 there's only one good song on that albumso....who cares?
