jtdscape Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Just posted on GDA:While in Scotland, last week, Green Day used their day off between shows to go into the Sonic Boom Studios. There they recorded two new demo tracks and hung out with Bankie George Henry, who runs the studio. "They asked a mutual friend of Green Day's tour management and myself and they ended up booking in to Sonic Boom for the whole day after hearing what we had to offer in our recording studio. Billie Joe and Mike turned up around 5pm and stayed until 10pm tracking their new stuff."Don't get too excited though because according to Bankie we won't be hearing the new tracks for at least a year. You can read the full article by clicking here. Thanks to NothingWrongWithMe.com for passing along the news.
Jacob. Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 awsome except the part where we wont hear them for at least a year
emmaILGD! Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Cool! I love how they always keep themselves busy with writing and recording, it shows how much they love what they do.
green_melly Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 awsome!!! news songs!!!i think billie talked about recording new songs in the absolute radio interview...1 year
valentinesandcigs Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 maybe there for the new network album
scottrowan200 Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 sonic boom aint even a great studio most big acts when in glasgow use berkley just shows green day dont give a fuck :P
The Disappearing Boy Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 ooh lovely. i imagine this willl be a side-project. or perhaps something random. its way too early to think about a new album.
jenni Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Coooooooooool! That's so awesome! Even if we have to wait 1 year... the waiting won't be that long! I mean... What is 1 year compared to the lapse of time we had to wait between American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown?!...
valentinesandcigs Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 ooh lovely. i imagine this willl be a side-project. or perhaps something random. its way too early to think about a new album.unless they decide to do that fast punk album they always talk about
The Muffin Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 better a year than five years...damn, I'm very very very curious about the songs.
farley drexel hatcher Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Guys he didn't literally mean we'd hear them in one year. I'm thinking it was more of a "We won't even think about putting anything else out for at least a year" type of thing. Billie has said he likes to go to studios and record demos on days off, i'm sure this isn't the first time they've done it.This is pretty cool, though! And you never know with them. Maybe they'll do the random EP that Billie's mentioned more than once.
novacaine_kid Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Yeah I was thinking about the EP idea that he mentioned the other day on that radio interview. I'm sure whatever they have planned it will be something special anyway
TinaGD Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 That's cool. But too bad we won't be hearing those songs for at least a year. At least we know they have some new recorded stuff
Guest Charlotte. Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Thanks for posting.I really do hope that the 2 songs are like a part of that EP thing Billie mentioned in the Absolute Radio interview. Or it could be for the Network or something! Ahh it could be anything thinking about it..Whatever it is for though, it's cool that they recorded these 2 in Scotland. Can't wait to hear the tracks & like it's been said: a year or so is better than 5!
Ally Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Cool, can't wait to hear them, pity its going to take so long to hear them
Hermione Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 It's so lovely to know the creative juices are always flowing. After the amount of effort that went into that wonderful album, not to mention the tour, they're STILL full of inspiration I hope if we ever hear these songs (or a version of them) one day we find out that they came from this originally, because that would be cool.
madswester Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Cool:) to bad that there is a holve year :/
The Disappearing Boy Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 i doubt they'd be recording for the network. remember, green day and the network are 2 different things.
Brian Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Thats awesome! Wonder what it sounds like?I personally am still waiting for a studio version of Drama Queen and Tell Me When...
E!!i Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 awsome!!! news songs!!!i think billie talked about recording new songs in the absolute radio interview...1 year I was in Cologne too! (Ich war auch in Köln dabei!)
brokenlovesong Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 It's a loooooong time but there's been a lot of rumors (in Denmark at least) that this would be their final album (I've never believed in those rumors, after all Billie said himself he wanted to be burried with his guitar ). So this tells the rumors to fuck off for good..
Juliette Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Wtf, new songs already ? Atm all I can think is screw recording, bring on more tour.
