As I am taking my 13yo son to Birmingham next Tuesday for his first ever rock concert, can someone please summarise the type of merchandising that is at the UK shows ? I just want an idea of the damage my flexible friend will take.

Thanks

I have no idea yet sorry...ahah I'm taking money and my mums credit card...oh the damage...

I assume from the US thread on merch is that shirts were about $30 from what I remember so that roughly £15 mininmum spend for the night if you just want a shirt....

I wish I could be more help....

But I am pleased someone started this thread...I need to know too...

I asked in one of the tour threads and was told a shirt would cost you £20, which is pretty much what I was expecting. Other than that they don't really have an awful lot, other than hoodies and hats and things like that, but i'd say a shirt would be most worth your money.

^ Sweet not that I'm mush of a hoodie person. But I can't wait to get a Green Day shirt. :D thanks!

Yeah I think they are, I saw them in a picture of the merch in the K! Legends.

You can also buy (the 09 tour) one from bravado-online.com (i think) for about £6

:)

Woo you're going to the same one as me.

That's what i was wondering too. I'm not really bothered about the designs it's the prices they are selling them for, so that i know how much to take. I asked my Dad and he said he 'might' lend me the money for a shirt, but if not i'll just get a program.

How much are the programs in the UK? At the shows?

Wow, that merch is AMAZING :D

I'm taking around £70 too....

The only thing I'm worried about is how easy it's going to be to get to this stuff. I'm going really early to get a good place at the front but does that effect when I can buy merch or not? I'm confused, sorry for being a noob but I've never been to a concert before :/ Can anyone help me out here? :)

In Germany they were 10€, so I think around £7? :P

With programs you mean those art books, right? I bought one of those. It was €10 here, so that's like 8 pounds or so?

I bought the merch after the show because I wanted a good place at the front. After the show I had to wait around 10 minutes, a bit longer maybe to get my bandshirt and tour art book :) Idk if that's the same at every show, kinda depends how fast you'll be at the merch stands

True. But most tour programmes are that much for any artist, band etc.

And most of us have forked out for a £6 Kerrang magazine whats £4 more? haha.

Emmaaa are you excited? It's only like 2 days for you now :D
