Did Blink 182 ever cover/parody Basket Case?

This thread may seem quite weird, but I have been really confused about this for a long time now.

Let me start off with a story;

A few years ago, I was going to go camping. I had been downloading a few songs (off Limewire I think) and I saw there was one; Blink 182 - Basket Case. I was pretty sure Blink had never done a studio cover of Basket Case, but as one does when they are downloading random songs that they like, I clicked download. I put it on my iPod and went off camping (without having actually listened to it on my computer).

Because my iPod was a shuffle I could not select specific songs. But during random listening, it never came on and I basically forgot about it. Then, while at the house of the people we were going camping with, the weirdest thing happened. On the radio, I heard what I swear was Blink 182 playing Basket Case, albeit with different lyrics. I cannot remember what they were exactly but I know they were about something immature. It sounded like a studio recording. I'm quite sure it was Blink, and I KNOW it was the melody of BK. Unfortunately I only heard about 15-20 seconds of it before the channel was changed.

About 3 years on, I have not heard this song since. I assume the file I downloaded was just something with the wrong name to it, but what is really strange is that I heard the ACTUAL song on the radio. I have searched on Google and Youtube for this song, but with no luck. It is still a mystery to me.

Does anybody have any ideas or have they heard this version if Basket Case? Because I am 99.99% sure that I heard Blink 182 (although I can't remember whether it was Mark or Tom or both) singing Basket Case, but with different lyrics. Hopefully somebody can shed some light on this.

The FOB cover is crap, seriously.

I've searched in Emule, just to help you out, and there is a file, but it's from a live show: Blink 182. Baket case. Live in Dallas.

Oh and I used to be a huge fans of Blink 182 and i've never heard of a studio version, but I can be wrong, i have not followed them for years

There was a band a few years back that did a studio cover of Basket Case.. I really can't remember their name.. But maybe you're getting the song you heard on the radio confused with that. If I recall correctly, they were quite Blink-ish.

Although, I gotta say, I'd love to hear a Blink cover of any Green Day song. Or a Green Day cover of a Blink song for that matter!

Could this be what you heard?... I know it doesn't sound like Blink-182 at all, but it seems most likely.

I'm a huge blink fan, and been for many years, and I have never heard of a Basket Case cover. Or a cover of any Green Day song.. I really doubt that it was them..

It must have been some other Blink'ish band.. and I mean.. if no one have ever heard of it, and you can't find it anywhere, then maybe it was just some idiot who had put the wrong band on the song.. it happens alot.. I once found a punk-cover of "Hit Me Baby One More Time" (yeah, it's even worse than it sounds) that said it was Blink and NOFX but for what I remember it was that band I can't remember what's called that had that song that went somehing like "I cry, when angels deserve to die...."

but the end of it.. I think you have to face that it wasn't Blink, man

i listened to the first five seconds of that and my ears started bleeding..not literally of course..but that was an awful cover haha

Well all I know is that the chords of the chorus of Blink 182's 'What's My Age Again?' are exactly the same as the chords that are right after the chorus of Basket Case.
