Fuzz Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 This thread is for discussion/reactions to the new music video for 21st Century Breakdown. The video was filmed in Los Angeles in September, and directed by Marc Webb - who also directed 21 Guns and "Waiting". To view the video, visit your local MTV site (list of sites available here)
alexandrez Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 at first, i was kinda of bummed with some of the cheesy animations. 80's style.but as soon as the part where there is real video kicks in, it all makes sense.that last line is basically what the whole video is about. "Believe what you see from heroes and cons?"that's pretty much what the video is about. it's this crazy Pink Floyd "The Wall" inspired video. questioning viewers sanity i guess.it's brilliant.at least, that's what im thinking right now, as it is 7 am here and i stayed up all night.
elanorelle72 Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 watched it again...I'd love to see politicians and financial people's faces after seeing this...hehe
Katarina. Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 I love it. Marc Webb did an awesome job on this one! I especially like the last part, when they're on that rooftop. Amazing vid! Does anyone know who the 2 guys kissing are supposed to be? lol just curious. The video is so freaking amazing!!!!Idk. I'd like to know that too. Hypocrisy maybe? Like, first those politicians fight, and then they do the total opposite..

Kleptomaniac Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 At first I was waiting for the real video part that was posted on GDA and then it transitioned to it in the end. Everything makes sense and thanks to the video I understand the song better now.Wow I haven't posted in a while it seems...
Astrid. Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 I forgot it was this night, so I went to bed at 00:15am. I just missed it by 45 min. But now I watched it.. and it's a really great video!! I watched it just once on GDA and I immediately liked it I'm gonna watch it again
billiejoelover23 Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 OMG I love it!!!!!!!! It is truly AMAZING! They have outdone theirselves once again. Each time they make a video I think that there's no way they could do any better but yet they make more videos and each one is better and better. I love the cool effects and everything. The ending is perfect!!! Billie Joe looks so adorable standing there on the roof with the sun shining on him! =]

Guest Shangri-La Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 best 21cb video so farBest Green Day video so far. PERIOD.
Bakabanas Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Superb video , the last part made me cry I like almost everything on this video, it adds some variety to other Green Day videos I think. It was worth to wait all night, and even though my life sucks on the whole, but not the Green Day part!
Brandon R. Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Best ever.Unbelievably epic.I am surprised at how great this turned out.
alexandrez Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 OMG...are we on the same wavelength too ? I just thought Pink Floyd..Kafka...yikes! I thought of the Wall too!im not that crazy then. good Yeah that makes sense.thanks. im going to bed now.hahah

Really shows how much the band has matured with their style and songwriting. They used to write songs about masturbation and boredom. Now they write songs about what's going on in the world, like Pink Floyd did. Amazing.
Guest Shangri-La Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 OMG...are we on the same wavelength too ? I just thought Pink Floyd..Kafka...yikes! I thought of the Wall too!metamorphosis?
finksgirl Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 best 21cb video so far I agree with you there, it's definitely the best this era.Which is quite a relief after being consistently let down with each video Maybe all the awesomeness that was supposed to be in KYE, 21 Guns and EJN got sucked into 21CB It doesnt change my mind about Webb, but it's about damn time he made an awesome video. Kudos to him.
basKT_case90 Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 when does this come out on itunes? i want a HQ version
Alan86 Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 At first I was waiting for the real video part that was posted on GDA and then it transitioned to it in the end. Everything makes sense and thanks to the video I understand the song better now.Wow I haven't posted in a while it seems...I think i understand the whole album a bit better too. The visual effects in this video put a real emphasis on the chaos that the band have been talking about since the album came out.The video type reminds me of the insomniac era too
Velocity Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 i just watched it for the first time. I think it's incredible. The visual effects are great. The whole thing bought tears to my eyes. It just might be one of my favorite Green Day videos, it's definitely the best video off this album so far.
susanananananaa Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Fucking brilliant video. Lovelovelove it. The best out of 21stCB so far. And one of the best Green Day videos, definitely!
