DeJennsitized Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Well my friend just gave me a copy of Fate Magazine for October 09. It's only a small interview, and there's nothing really new in there, but they mention Green Day's previous gigs in Belfast (1991 and 1998) and their upcoming show at the Odyssey. I scanned it, but my scanner is pretty shit. Hermione Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Lovely stuff, thanks very much for scanning it
Maddy. Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 I lol'd at "this gig is now sold out"I don't know why.
Eirik Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Thaaanks. And err, isn't the answer he gave to the growing older question basically the exact same as the one he gave Rolling Stone back in 2007...?

Belfast magazines, especially free ones, aren't known for their exclusive interviews.
Welshy Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Thanks for the scans! I don't understand though why he doesn't want to be a part of rock royalty, he's said before he wants Green Day to be the biggest band in the world and that usually goes hand in hand with rock royalty.
Mar Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 I lol'd at "this gig is now sold out"I don't know why. So did I! Thanks for the scans! I don't understand though why he doesn't want to be a part of rock royalty, he's said before he wants Green Day to be the biggest band in the world and that usually goes hand in hand with rock royalty.I see what you mean, but I think he meant more of the idea the bands are held on such a pedestal, and are often considered to be "better" than their fans, stuff like that. There's a whole lifestyle that goes hand in hand with rock royalty (at least in my mind), and I think he's saying that while he certainly has the drive to be great and memorable, I don't think he wants that lifestyle (I think the guys still living in Oakland and not LA/NY is an example). I hope that makes sense!Thank you for scanning! Haha, that story about Adrienne is cracking me up
LetItBeHappy Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 I awwww'd when he said that he was proud of his lyrics of 21stCB Thank you for sharing! EDIT: About the rock royaltie! He once said that people are gonna be always discussing what your band is, till it's over. When the band it's over, they finally qualify you. So, if they ever become rock royaltie, means that they have done everything they could, they can't innovate anymore and, bassicly, the band is over and they can't make good music anymore.
Angela. Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Thanks for the scans! I enjoyed the interview.
