thisisAB Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 This Labour Day weekend the Edge (radio station) was counting down the top 200 songs of the 90's. Green Day made the list 8 times: 162. Longview135. Basketcase (now it's Jaded apperantly)94. Welcome To Paradise 82. She43. Good Riddance25. Brainstew 19. Basketcase (again LOL)13. When I Come AroundOverall great list. For Green Day, I'm surprised that Welcome to Paradise made it and that When I Come Around was the top Green Day song. Longview's placement was very low in my opinion, it should have surpassed the rest of the dookie singles minus Basketcase, but maybe it just wasn't as popular here at the time. Farah Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 That's cool .They're also on the Top 102 New Rock Albums with Dookie, American Idiot and Nimrod.
Jaymee!! Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 I'm actually surprised that When I Come Around was the highest rated out of their songs. I would've thought that everyone would say Good Riddance...well, I'm happy it wasn't that song. I think I'm probably one of the only people who actually really cannot stand that song Yay for Green Day. Well done.
gabbag Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Yay thats cool! I'm happy that When I Come Around is their highest because I love that song
Ally Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 pretty cool, but how can basketcase be on it twice thought that would get the highest out of all the green day songs
Farah Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 pretty cool, but how can basketcase be on it twice thought that would get the highest out of all the green day songsme too.
The Disappearing Boy Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 nice. unusual to see when i come around so high on any list, it was the least successful of the dookie singles, wasn't it?
Nzap Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 nice. unusual to see when i come around so high on any list, it was the least successful of the dookie singles, wasn't it?I think WtP was less successful.
emmaILGD! Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Why's Basket Case on there twice? But, cool, anyway
04rebhop Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 That's cool! I would have put Longview first though.
valentinesandcigs Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 basket case kicks so much ass it has to be on there twice
Hermione Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Excellent . The order is quite surprising, but then again I doubt much thought went into it seeing as they stuck the same song in twice
Kaddi. Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 I don't get why Basket Case is on there twice, but anyway... Green Day deserve to be on that list
Juan Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 lol. I'm surprised with She actually. Everybody knows WICA(n)
chickin'pickin' Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 How is Jaded or Warning not in there and Basket case is in there twice?
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 That's nice! Speaking about 90's top somethings, http://www.greendaycommunity.org/Forum/ind...showtopic=73072(sorry )
thisisAB Posted September 8, 2009 Author Posted September 8, 2009 How is Jaded or Warning not in there and Basket case is in there twice?Jaded wasn't that popular, and Warning (probabaly even less popular) was released in 2000 (although it was written earlier).
rage-love-life Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 That's cool, but I laughed when Basket Case was in there twice.
ShadowWolf Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Nice, suprised Good Riddance isn't the highest rated one though. And hah at Basket Case being in there twice...Me thinks someone had a bit of a brain fart when they were putting together that list.
Nikki_Nimrod Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Sweet! I'm glad they got so many spots, they deserve it. The order surprised me a bit too, but WICA is one of my favorite songs, so i'm not complaining!
