lookoutrebelgirl Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 There's this wall in Atwater California that has some of the art from the 21stCB booklet on he the walls and, unlike the advertisment ones, it is real reall art from the booklets but there are some lyrics to Modern World that arnt the ones from the booklet. At first i thought they didnt use these because they desided to make modern World and Mass Hastaria kind of one song as a parts of American Ulagy but i was looking back at the lyrics and notesed that the last versce is differnet (The first line is different from what it said in anyversion of the booklet as well).See-The line was changed fromI’m not a day dream I’m not disengaged To With money to burn On a minimum wage It's a little thing but it's interesting to see Billie’s still changing things at such a late point in the albums production. More picture in my photobucket
Guest Shangri-La Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 In Atwater?? That's totally random. This is cool!

MusicalDeviant Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 That's cool. However, I prefer the actual lyrics compared to these. Now if only they could have left the lyrics of 21CB alone, since they were great to start with and made less great in the final iteration of that song.

lookoutrebelgirl Posted August 29, 2009 Author Posted August 29, 2009 Maybe the writing on the wall made him realize he could do better?Haha I’m going to tell that to my friend. We have a kind of eternal game of best use of pun/play on words, though since you said it would technically be cheating.Im spamming my own thread

GreenDay808 Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 i think is weird how he says the "i'm not a daydreamer..." part live. but on the reg. song it says the other one.i got confused at first. i was like, "wow, thats...not it....???"haha. thats when i heard it live. but yeah, i like both of them
Foxboro Hot Tubs Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Mass Hysteria was one of the first songs they wrote for 21st Century Breakdown I thinkIt's weird .. they're working 3 years on a new album and they change lyrics at such a late point.
Eirik Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 ^Yeah, but this is about Modern World, not Mass Hysteria.
Anja Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Wow, that´s some cool stuff in your photoalbum. I like both lines from the song, they both fit very well. It´s great to see the performance again. I just watched some other performances from that night and it´s weird how you like forget all the little details and don´t even remember them from watching the videos
Foxboro Hot Tubs Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 ^Yeah, but this is about Modern World, not Mass Hysteria. lool that's right ... sorry
Hermione Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 That's really cool. I love that verse, those are some of my favourite lyrics on the album. I like both versions of that line but I think I might even prefer this one, maybe I just like the word 'daydreamer'
Welshy Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 I remember watching the canal videos they did in France and Mike sings it like this.
Ila Reto Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 yea i heard mike singing that at the earlier shows, it's kinda funky! im happy now that we have the lyrics
Brian Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 It also says "I'm a fugitive son" in the standard CD book. But in the Special Edition 52 page book, it says "I'm the Class of '13"
Pati. Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 yea i heard mike singing that at the earlier shows, it's kinda funky! im happy now that we have the lyrics Yeah it is kinda funky I like the lyrics this way better.
Starred Thoughts Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 It's cool that you found the actual location where they painted the art. Maybe they felt that the lyrics they changed would flow better.
Nikki_Nimrod Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Whoa, that's really cool!Funny, i've watched that video from the Fox Theatre a few times before but i never noticed the lyric change. I must have just been too excited I really like the lyrics like that, although i still think i prefer the way it ended up. That's awesome actually finding it on the wall though!
