elanorelle72 Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 American Idiot needs you!POSTED BY BERT REPTILE ON MON, AUG 3, 2009IN SCENE SHOPHere’s your chance to be part of American Idiot.Set designer Christine Jones, part of the extraordinary team of artists working to turn a seminal Green Day album into a raging piece of rock ‘n’ roll theater, is sending out a call to musicians and fans to be – literally – part of her set.Christine would like you to send in artwork that has been generated for your own bands –for concert posters or album covers – which would then be used to paper the walls of the warehouse-like set.She is also interested in handwritten song lists and handwritten pages of songs in the process of being written. Photocopies are acceptable.Send your submissions by Aug. 25 to: Berkeley Repertory Theatre Scenic Studios, Attention Lisa Lazar, Scenic Artist, 2526 Wood St., Oakland CA 94607.Once the articles you send become part of the set, obviously, they cannot be returned, but they will be part of history as American Idiot makes its world premiere at Berkeley Rep Sep 4-Oct 11.so lets get cracking....***busily cleans off crumbs and gum off pages**advice: colour photocopy your originals..you don't want to lose them..they don't return them

minus52 Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 I was looking for an E-mail when I first read it.it's so tedious for me to send mailYeah, I would but I can't be stuffed mailing anything
Sarahnade. Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 ^Thanks for the multiple explanations. :]Hmm. I write a lot of songs, so it would be cool to have my stuff up on there.I might do it. I don't know.

Guest Shangri-La Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 If we send stuff in, how will we know they used it?Will they just use everything they get?WHO CARES! Just send it in.
jose armstrong Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 but its more fun to mail in coffee stains and last nights dinner and cat prints when the cat sits on your music when you try to write itI was going to send scans of it,, but I guess these guys don't want to live in the modern world either
elanorelle72 Posted August 4, 2009 Author Posted August 4, 2009 My package is all ready now...Cover letter finishedand going to be Fed-exed...woohoooo
Angela. Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 This is cool. I think I want to do this. I just thought of something. I'm sure the guys will look at the set. They'll probably see our work. That's actually pretty interesting.
RhayaOnTheHill Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 that's awesome I"m so sending some stuff in
GreenDayGummyBear Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 I was going to send scans of it,, but I guess these guys don't want to live in the modern world eithermaybe they just dont want to waste paper printing them all out?
elanorelle72 Posted August 4, 2009 Author Posted August 4, 2009 maybe they just dont want to waste paper printing them all out?and its art too...should be authentic..I like to think so..
Nele Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Wow that's cool.I might send in some of my (shitty) lyrics or make a flyer for my not-existent band. But the only problem is that I don't know if my stuff will be there before the deadline ends... I once sent money to Andres and he got the letter like three month later... "/ Do you guys think it would be there in time if I sent my letter to them one week before the official end? (I'm in NYC at that time so it might be faster then sending it from Germany...)
Sarahnade. Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 I feel pathetic for asking so many questions, but can we just stuff our papers in an envelope, or do they have to be in a package?
