Green Dog Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Back in the summer of 1990 they played all kind of little clubs. Billie Joe said the first time they ever played in Pennsylvania was in a place in Harrisburg when they were 18 years old. I thought it was cool. He said it was on youtube. I found them. Just search Green Day Harrisburg.
violeta Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 yeah the vids are great never seen them before, thanks for the info
Green Dog Posted July 25, 2009 Author Posted July 25, 2009 Does anybody know if this "Living Room" still exists in Harrisburg? Or is it still standing but something else? I would love to go see it just to see it.
fashionvictim86 Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 That would have been funny if it was the Hardware Bar in Harrisburg. I had a few friends that played there.
Hermione Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 I love those clips. Haven't watched them for ages I might have to now. It's really cool to think of Billie and the guys finding them on youtube and enjoying them, makes me smile
Ila Reto Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 oh yea, i remember the living room. the footage was really dark though, makes it hard to watch from my phone.
Lauren Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 I saw one of them. It was great. Can someone please edit the thread title, though? It's too long and stretches out the board. Could you please put some of it in the subtitle? something like: Title- Green Day in Harrisburg 1990subtitle- Billie Joe announced this at the Pittsburgh show
The Disappearing Boy Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Stupid Question:When its called 'Living Room', is that the name of the venue, or is it actually someone's house!?
Green Dog Posted July 26, 2009 Author Posted July 26, 2009 The way Billie Joe said it was something like "The first time we played in Pennsylvania was in somebody's living room". But when I checked youtube, the titles of the videos make it seam like it is a club called Living Room. So I'm not sure if it's a house or a small club.
Princess Consuela Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Maybe someone had a club in his living room
NowhereBound Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 That's really cool...I've never seen these before! Thanks!
Tripe Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 I'd forgotten about this! Wow, there are a lot of videos from that performance. Thanks for the reminder.Remember, he asked if Harrisburg was anywhere near there (Pittsburgh)?
Green Dog Posted July 27, 2009 Author Posted July 27, 2009 I'd forgotten about this! Wow, there are a lot of videos from that performance. Thanks for the reminder.Remember, he asked if Harrisburg was anywhere near there (Pittsburgh)? I do remember him asking if Harrisburg was near Pittsburgh. He said he had no idea where it is in relation to Pittsburgh.
Green Dog Posted August 1, 2009 Author Posted August 1, 2009 Can anybody notice in those clips if that is John Kiffmeyer playing the drums? I don't think Tre Cool was with them on that first little tour they did in 1990.

monkeyman Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 im pretty john is on the drums in this show...Also, i think there is a living room club somewhere... can't remember where but i read about it last night... but this show is actually in someones living in im pretty sure because on their 1990 tour they basically just played in peoples living rooms or in other random places... they would play for people just so they would have somewhere to stay and something to eat...
LiveGreenDay Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 That show was at a house party. Literally a living room.
