Lauren Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I saw Green Day in Philadelphia the other day and I'm seeing them in DC soon. Last time I got a spot by the cat walk, but I also had an opportunity to go where the cat walk and stage meet in the corner. If I get the same chance again, where should I go? The cat walk is great when things happen there, but they don't happen too often.Mike is in the same place for most of the show, and most of the time when Billie's singing stationary, it's where the cat walk starts. Tre is obviously in the same place when he's actually playing. This means it's far away for most of the show if you're at the end of the cat walk. However, if you're in front of the end of the cat walk, you have to turn around and you see the backs of whoever is out on the cat walk.I'm wondering what your opinions are and where I should go next time if I have a choice. Honestly I wish there was no cat walk at all.
CarnageXB Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 DC is a stadium. I was going to go but I hate stadiums. Go by the stage
Lauren Posted July 24, 2009 Author Posted July 24, 2009 DC is a stadium. I was going to go but I hate stadiums. Go by the stagewhat do you mean by that? and I'm also going to Las Vegas, too
Guest Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 i agree, i really wish there was just no cat walk at all.last time i saw them i was against the barrier right in front of mike, and it was amazing, but billie spends a good amount of time out on the catwalk and it's impossible to turn around and see him when he's out there and if you're short like me.so this time...i'm going for end of the catwalk
jose armstrong Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I swear I though the title was "which POT is better?"... and I though there was finally a good thread around

Billie came to the cat walk during 21st century breakdown but only to take the drunken guy on stage. he also did some of are we the waiting. the girl who got up for that was standing next to me. and he did half of know your enemy and half of she from there. and the king for a day kazoo/saxaphone solo was there. mike came out twice, once during know your enemy for hi fives and once to start the longview bass line. i left during the encore so i'm guessing based on other shows he also did his acoustic solo stuff from there, too. What about at the front in the middle of the stage?that doesn't make sense because that's where the cat walk extends. technically i was in the middle of the stage and there was no one in front of me (i was at the barrier) but i was still far away 'cause the cat walk is like 20 feet long.
.:Whatsername:. Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I would go to the corner where the catwalk meets the stage. I would go on the right side because then when Billie goes down the catwalk you can still watch Mike and Tre. I wasn't at the corner but I was on the right side and still couldn't see Billie when he went down the catwalk, so I'd just stare at Mike and Tre. No offense to him, but I'm glad I was on the right side so I could see Mike instead of Jason White. Oh and yea, Billie did do the acoustic stuff (and Time of Your Life) at the end of the catwalk, but at the concert I went to everyone moved so we could all sort of see better.
Juliette Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I would go for the corner, though I've never been to a show with a catwalk so I'm just guessing.

Then again, Billie favored the left at our show! he picked most of the people from that side to go up on stage.
Guest Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 even if the catwalk is long and you're technically far away from the stage if you're at the end of it on the barrier, it's still good because there's no one in your way blocking the view. idk. that's just what seems like the best place to be in my opinion.

Katarina. Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Is there a catwalk? I hope/thought there isn't one at the show I'm going to!I'm planning to go in front of the stage, somewhere in the middle.Out of your options.. I'd say none, or as close to the stage as you can.
emmaILGD! Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Depends on whether you want to risk dying or not.
*Green_girl* Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I was on the side of the cat walk, and i was litteraly squeezed on the godamn fence XD I had to get out after 10 songs ,because i couldnt breath
amy_runs Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I voted corner, cause they are on stage more than they are the cat walk (I think)

Lauren Posted July 24, 2009 Author Posted July 24, 2009 Guys realize I'm not talking about getting squished. of course you're gonna get squished unless you're far enough back where the people give you room to breathe. i wanna try and get barrier again and if i'm one of the first people in, i will probably get to choose which spot i want. which is why i'm asking this question. i just wish there was no cat walk
Sharmellow Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 I say the corner, somewhere close to Mike and a good view of Tre. Billie goes all over the stage, so you'll see him a lot. Mike doesn't move as often as Billie.
SaintSaturn Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 The catwalk seems so stupid for a Green Day show. I probably couldn't get to the show in Arizona very early, so I went with lower level. I was lucky enough to get the front row of the section directly to the side of the stage. When Billie is on the stage I will be looking at the front/side of his face, but if he goes to the catwalk a lot I will be seeing the back of his head probably. It's not that big of a deal, but still. I know on the AI tour they came over to the side a lot and played to the lower level. Does that still happen?
Trina Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Weird...I was thinking of making a topic like this yesterday.Anyways, I voted the corner wehere the stage meets the catwalk (on the right hand side/Mike's side) as that is orignally what I was planning on but now I'm not so sure.I was considering the end or side of the middle of the catwalk.I really don't know...I think I'll end up just going for the corner anyways. I hope that Billie Joe doesn't spend alot of time down the catwalk.
Sharmellow Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 I hope that Billie Joe doesn't spend alot of time down the catwalk. It's a latter. He's usually walking about, but there's times where he sings on the catwalk. Especially during 21 Guns and Good Riddance.
Hayley Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 I'd go for the corner.I was near the corner when I saw them and I had a dec view of everything
