amy_runs Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Has anyone seen the Sesame Street episode where someone says something like "Today is a green day" ? I have been very curious about it lately and I can't find it anywhere. Have you seen it? Any idea where it can be found?
Hermione Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Oh my god I would love to see that . When I first got the internet and saw how much cool Green Day stuff was around I wondered if it might be online somewhere, I assumed it'd never been found since it was never mentioned anywhere.I guess it'd be pretty hard to find, there must be a lot of Sesame Street episodes. Someone needs to find it!
Blu Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Hasn't it been documented that Green Day's name comes from "green day" meaning a day spent smoking pot?
Jack96 Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Hasn't it been documented that Green Day's name comes from "green day" meaning a day spent smoking pot?Yeah thats what i thought

belinda jane Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I've heard a few stories of how they got their name, but never known which one was true, to be honest.
Jack96 Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Smoking grass all dayIs what I have always heard. What is a green day?A green Day is when u sit down and smoke Pot all day

Velocity Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I've heard somewhere that there was an episode of Sesame Street and the muppets say that that episode is a "green day" (as opposed to a blue day or a yellow day I guess). I've tried to find that episode online, but I haven't found anything. I don't even know for sure that the episode exists or if it was just a rumor.
Andrick Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 haha i didnt find the episode but wtf is this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rX_Ch8TDWw
Guest Shangri-La Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbCI68eSNsA"It's not easy being Green..."that's not what it's from...and the term 'green day' did come from Sesame Street. It was Oscar the grouch who said it. "I am having a green day", meaning he was having a bad day.
Nimrod99 Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 haha i didnt find the episode but wtf is this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rX_Ch8TDWwthat's disturbing. but I laughed so hard I wet my pants
**kookai** Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Hasn't it been documented that Green Day's name comes from "green day" meaning a day spent smoking pot?that's what I thought too
Poo Flinger Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 that's not what it's from...It's not from the song, but the saying may have been from one of the episodes that that song was in. Sesame Street always had a theme for the day, the color green was the theme for whatever the episode was most likely.

amy_runs Posted July 24, 2009 Author Posted July 24, 2009 Hasn't it been documented that Green Day's name comes from "green day" meaning a day spent smoking pot?Yeah, but I thought they got the term from Sesame Street and then began to use itand the term 'green day' did come from Sesame Street. It was Oscar the grouch who said it. "I am having a green day", meaning he was having a bad day.Yes. That's what I'm looking for
emmaILGD! Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I was thinking about this the other day! Weird.I used to watch Sesame Street a lot when I was younger, I probably saw it at some point.
Sharmellow Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 haha i didnt find the episode but wtf is this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rX_Ch8TDWwOh god. But anyway, I agree with Blu, they got the name from smoking pot, right? :/Anyway, if someone does find the video, that would be great.
JAS0N Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Hasn't it been documented that Green Day's name comes from "green day" meaning a day spent smoking pot? You'd think considering they have a song specifically about sitting around getting stoned which is called "Green Day" that the connection would be easily be made but not the case apparently.

davegrohllover Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Hasn't it been documented that Green Day's name comes from "green day" meaning a day spent smoking pot?Yeah that is where they got the name. But i wanna see that sesame street episode, LOL
Lauren Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Hasn't it been documented that Green Day's name comes from "green day" meaning a day spent smoking pot?Yes, because they were smoking pot while watching Sesame Street and Ernie said "green day" and they all laughed about it and then John even got it on his jacket.
CarnageXB Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Green Day = smoking pot all dayBut I wonder what Green Day means to the guys now since they dont smoke pot all day anymore.
