Spudderbudder Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 When bringing a digital camera to a GD concert, what's the best setting to use the camera in? I've tried multiple modes at previous Evanescence and Linkin Park concerts (phenomenal btw). But I can never pin down which is the best mode to employ. Can anyone offer me advice in regards to this? Night, indoor, beach, fireworks, etc. mode? Which one works best, especially with respects to the occassional fog on stage and the lighting (what kind of lighting do they generally use?)? Thanks again!
Deniz. Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 i think you should do photos with "best shot"..dunno if you know that. it's an option to have clearly photos..or try it with the normal option. i think you shouldn't use lightning..btw.i think it's better if you don't take photos..as billie said you can better enjoy the show and that is so great. i didn't use a camera and it was just amazing.i saw awesome pictures from the show and they wasn't taken from me. i had my camera with me..but i didn't take it out and took photos..and after the show it was broken.
watsername182 Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 This is like the third thread about cameras.Anyway, I never seem to get any good shots on my camera so I don't bother bringing on anymore.Just use my phone instead. But maybe the "sports" mode.Like the one that's for motion or following people.I dunno if that makes any sense. :/
Kaddi. Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 I'm still not sure if I'll take a camera with me to the concert, because I'm afraid of it getting broke.Does it make a difference if you use a 10 mega pixel camera instead of a 5 mega pixel one...? I mean, it usually does, but at a concert it's difficult to take good photos anyway.I think I would use auto mode, because then the camera figures everything out... or fireworks maybe. I'm not sure though.
belinda jane Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 i always use auto, but i take the flash off because it tends to wash out a lot of the colour in my photos.not sure if you'll have the same result.i also put the shake thing on. i usually end up getting good photos when i go to gigs.
Isabel Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 I have a panasonic lumix camera and it has an auto intelligent function where it'll take the photograph in the right mode, based on the lighting, face detector, etc. It's amazing
bass boy Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 id use the night setting or regular. im going to film most of the concert, so i geuss there is only the regular setting for that
Kryssi. Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Each camera differs. I found out that when I saw Katy Perry not too long ago, using portrait mode caught the best photos than the other setting I had it on.
Rbka Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 I think I might just get a disposable. My digital camera's fucked anyway.
SkippyNXC Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 too bad hollaz in italy... she adjusted my digi cam for me for bowery and webster and we got the BEST shots! i know the flash was off... thats all i can remember... lol
Guest Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 every concert i go to my pictures turn out shit, but it all depends on how close you are to the stage because the lighting is going to be different everywhere.
MusicalDeviant Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 i think it's better if you don't take photos..as billie said you can better enjoy the show and that is so great. i didn't use a camera and it was just amazing.i saw awesome pictures from the show and they wasn't taken from me. i had my camera with me..but i didn't take it out and took photos..and after the show it was broken.Cue to his speech at the troubadour pinhead show about youtube, in which he pointed at me and my camera and told us that it was better not to take pictures. Deniz speaks the truth on this one. Let other people take photos. I guarantee there will be plenty of them. On the otherhand, if you were to get backstage, having a small camera would be nice.
Zalex Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 too bad hollaz in italy... she adjusted my digi cam for me for bowery and webster and we got the BEST shots! i know the flash was off... thats all i can remember... lolIO HO RITORNATO FROM ITALIA.Turn off the fucking flash and put it on a high iso and you can take pictures like this on a basic point and shoot I'm still not sure if I'll take a camera with me to the concert, because I'm afraid of it getting broke.Does it make a difference if you use a 10 mega pixel camera instead of a 5 mega pixel one...? I mean, it usually does, but at a concert it's difficult to take good photos anyway.I think I would use auto mode, because then the camera figures everything out... or fireworks maybe. I'm not sure though.you do not "get broke" cameras.10 pixels vs 5 pixels does not make a difference.the camera does NOT figure everything out on auto mode for concerts.fireworks mode is not going to work either.
Jaymee!! Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 Wouldn't the auto settings suffice? The camera would figure out what's best for itself.
SkippyNXC Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 trust da holla.... i'm serious... auto did NOT work for me n then she adjusted n we got pics like what she posted... or u can ignore the advice n just put it on auto then compare results
Zalex Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Wouldn't the auto settings suffice? The camera would figure out what's best for itself.No. It really wont. Trust me, I'm a photographer. If you dont believe me you can try taking pictures on auto if you want but compare them to anybody who uses it on manual and you'll see a major difference in quality.
