Spudderbudder Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 I'm attending Green Day's concert this Saturday and the venue said small "non-professional" cameras without 'recording devices' will be allowed. In general terms, what does non-professional camera mean? I would think most small digital cameras these days have some sort of audio or video recording device...it's inevitable really. You think I could sneak in a Sony Cybershot W290 in? It's small and does sport a small button for video on the rotator dial (but then...which cameras don't?). What do you think? Thanks!
Sharmellow Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Yeah, just bring your camera anyway. Just say it can't record, and they'll let you through most likely.
Lauren Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 I think what they mean by "professional" cameras are cameras that have detachable lenses.
Deniz. Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 it's mean, a normal cam..they don't allow reflex cameras!
Spudderbudder Posted July 9, 2009 Author Posted July 9, 2009 So, in any case a Sony Cybershot W290 or maybe a Nikon 9000 be ok? Should I be able to cruise right through security?
Laura! Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 So, in any case a Sony Cybershot W290 or maybe a Nikon 9000 be ok? Should I be able to cruise right through security?Yeah they should. If they are digital cameras they should be fine.
Kryssi. Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Any SLR cameras are classed as professional. You should be fine with the one you're taking with you.
trejack101 Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 I think that you are beautiful.I think that you are beautiful.
Jack96 Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Oh good digital cameras are allowed into GD concerts ill remember that
Spudderbudder Posted July 9, 2009 Author Posted July 9, 2009 Jack96, do you say that because you know GD allows cameras like that indoors? I'm a little confused by your statement. Oh good? I'll remember that? Does this come from your personal experience? Thanks!

fashionvictim86 Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Psh they don't give a shit. THey know it's professional if it's a huge bag that the camera is, not just a camera you put in your pocket.
**nobodylikesyou** Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 digital cameras are fine, massive two foot lenses are not.
bass boy Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 im sneaking in my camera with 2 memory chips so i can record the whole concert
Khaleesi. Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 im sneaking in my camera with 2 memory chips so i can record the whole concert They don't let you record video though.
Laura! Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 They don't let you record video though. But people do it anyways. I've done it before when they said no video and I was in front row of the concert.
Prisca Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Oh this is great! I've been meaning to ask about this but I feel reassured now, so I'll definitely take my camera!
billie-joe-geek72 Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Yeah, you'll be able to bring it in. im sneaking in my camera with 2 memory chips so i can record the whole concert They usually end up catching you if you record
watsername182 Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Oh good digital cameras are allowed into GD concerts ill remember that Not necessarily. It depends on the venue.Acer doesn't usually let us bring any sort of camera. We'll have to wait until November to see what the ticket says.
