Kayfabe Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Ok you guys, I've been asked (well, I volunteered) to make a 'movie' on windows movie maker about our current class in school (really it's just gonna be a slideshow of my classmates) So I needed you guys' help on choosing a song! It's gonna be Green Day natch, but I narrowed it down to 4 and I REALLY can't decide between them!Castaway: It's got that 'happy' touch to it, and since all of the people are smiling & hugging in the photos I thought it would fitLast Night on Earth: When it says 'I'm sendin' all my love to you' with the picture of friends, it's just beautiful :')Time of Your Life: 'Tattoos and Memories and dead skin on trial' ect. It's a time capsule and we will only see it again when we leave school so I thought the 'memories' theme was appropriateShe's a Rebel: We're teens, we're at that rebellious age, full of attitude! And also how my school is all girls, she is this she is that ect makes it feel like Billie is describing my classmatesLove everyone for helping xxx
amy_runs Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Time of Your Life. We play that every year at our cross country banquet slide show (thanks to me ) and it brings tears to peoples eyes. It's very touching
Welshy Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 I don't know about Castaway, if its to do with your class and friends then lyrics like 'Castaway - going at it alone, castaway - now I'm on my own' might be a bit weird. I'd choose She's a Rebel. Time of Your Life might be a bit cliche maybe.
Miqui_Dee Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Although I think Good Riddance has been misconstrued so many times for graduations and the like, I'd go with Good Riddance.
Harriet Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Time of Your Life might be a bit cliche maybe.I agree. Pretty much everyone on Earth has used this as their prom/graduation song at some point. Be unique amd pick something else
Angela. Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 ^ This.I'd go with Castaway or She's A Rebel. But that's just me.
RogueBreakdown Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 yeah I agree with the two above me... Good riddance is kinda cliche...She's a rebel sounds pretty good... Then again LNOE is my love
Guest Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 good riddance or castaway, depending what kinda vibe you end up going for
Astrid. Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 It depends on what kind of movie it will look like.Good Riddance does a good job many times.I think I'd choose for Castaway though.
Hermione Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 I'd pick Castaway for it's awesomeness I always think it's funny when Good Riddance is used for sentimental things, after all it's called 'Good Riddance', and the 'time of your life' part is pretty sarcastic. But then I suppose that would actually make it a good choice because it's quite funny to be saying 'good riddance' to your friends
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Castaway, it's happy. And awesome. And the lyrics, oh well. It's not like you pay a lot of attention to that, especially not if you're watching special/funny pictures.
Hermione Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Castaway, it's happy. And awesome. And the lyrics, oh well. It's not like you pay a lot of attention to that, especially not if you're watching special/funny pictures. I agree! 'Going at it alone', hehehe
Anja Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 May I change? Good Riddance might be a little too sad cause it´s already sad watching all the pictures from the past, I guess. So I´d go with Castaway
Moz Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 I think Castaway would really work, because it's so upbeat, and i think the 'destination unknown' theme of the song would also fit with leaving school. It's sad, but as you're all going to be leaving your friends 'going at it alone' could be kind of appropriate. The song's happy and sad at the same time, which seems perfect to me.I hope the movie is a success
DeJennsitized Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 Definately Castaway. Some of the lyrics would fit really well, especially the opening line "I'm on a sentimental journey..." I have that whole first line of Castaway engraved on my iPod, I love it so much.Plus Castaway is one of my all-time favourite Green Day songs.Of course Good Riddance is a good choice, but that's played so many times and is quite predictable. Castaway FTW
mary_x3 Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 shes a rebel or castaway. they're both upbeat and catchy.
louizex Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 hmm good riddance is such a popular choice for a reason. shes a rebel just doest sound like its got the right vibe for a 'leaving' song. i would personally choose good riddance.
Nova-Caine Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 Good Riddance. I put together a small slide show of photo's on disc for my friend when she moved Country a couple of years ago. It was of all of our friends, the time's we'd spent together etc. It worked and made everyone cry.Yeah I know it's taking the song out of context but it worked.
NowhereBound Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 Well, as much as I like Good Riddance, I agree with everyone else. I would say pick She's A Rebel or Castaway; they are fun, upbeat songs .
