I'm sure we've all noticed how many funny background noises and phrases are said during songs like in longview when billie says " call me what you will" we hear a "what you will" follow in response or in good riddance when billie tries to start can't do it and before the third try just goes "ah fuck it"...obviously hundreds more and i love them cuz there fun to like listen for and when u no where they are you just sing along with it like the rest of the song and i think its one of the things that makes Green Day so much fun so I was just wondering what sounds you guys have noticed and what ones oyu like the best...i hope this isnt really stupid...if it is please close this thread but be nice about it

That's during Dearly Beloved.

but those aren't anomalies.

here are examples of anomalies, but with The Beatles' music:

http://wgo.signal11.org.uk/wgo.htm

those are examples of some. "are you talking to me?" and the "ahhh" aren't anomalies.

EDIT: here are some examples

1) Flubbed lyrics/notes/beats/etc.

2) Sounds other than the instruments/vocals/etc.,

such as squeaks or clicks

3) Vocal direction, such as counting, or some other

means of vocal tagging.

This does not include such count-ins as "I Saw Her

Standing There"

4) Mixing errors, such as places where a track was

brought up at the wrong time.

5) Vocal comments/jokes/etc. that were not intended for direction.

Near the end of the instrumental part of Prosthetic Head, in the quiet part just before he starts singing again, if you listen carefully you can hear him cough :D

that's not a background noise or anything. that's just part of the song. it's like me pointing out that Billie screams "Give me Give me REVOLUTION!" in Know Your Enemy. It's obvious.

I'm not sure if this counts... but before All By Myself starts, you can hear somebody laughing, Tre' (I think) heavily breathing/panting, and Mike saying, "Are we recording? Shut up," in a joking tone.

Haha it took me ages to notice that heavy breathing at the beginning, what a nice surprise when I did!

That reminds me if you listen to Hungry Hungry Models just on one headphone (can't remember which one now), you can hear Tre saying the lyrics underneath the singing in a low, whispery voice :eyebrows:

before "Like a dog that just pissed on your barbecue", right?

i think that's just him making the noise with his tongue.

You know an easy way to find mistakes? Listen to all the songs in Out of Phase Stereo. It helps. Plus it's cool, because you can hear the harmonies louder and the main vocal almost disappears! :D

OK my sister claims that in Give Me Novacaine, Billie goes "uhhh" just before the guitar solo. So he goes "Oh novacaine.....uhhh". All I hear is "Oh novacaine" and then the guitar solo.

Can anyone else hear this "uhhh"???

idc its still cool!! and your gunna say this doesnt count either but my all time favorite non-lyric...is during JOS in I Don't Care...near the end of it with the repeated "And I don't care!" with some "oohhs" from Mike...under the lyrics you cna billie scream twice and the first one is so. incredibly. awesome. i think i'll listen to it it now...its like whoaAaAaA ya no? it goes like all wiggly its hard ot descirbe but you'll know what i'm taking about...its like in waynes world when do the extreme close up if youve seen waynes world the movie...thats wat its like...i love it

in "I Don't Care" just before the part i descibred he also goes "ah heres another one!!" under some lyrics

i can hear what she's saying, not sure if it's billie's voice though. pretty sure it's just guitar.

ahhh i should make a list cuz i always notice things like that.

A few i can remember at the end of letterbomb if you listen very close you can hear like someone moving the guitar or touching it

Or in Prostetic head towards the end when its just the guitar, right before billie starts singing you can hear a cough

Yeah I know what you mean, ad-libbed lyrics. Different to odd background sounds but still cool. One of my favourites would be whatever the hell he shouts out at the end of Blood Sex And Booze. What's he saying?

off the wagon ending.
