J'net Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 An MTV.com review of the album stated that 21 Guns, "really ought to be" the last song on this album. Granted, that was before they'd heard See the Light.Billie's comment about See the Light was:“This record is like the way American culture is right now, where a different week is a different crisis depending on where you’re getting your news from, but there’s also this feeling of hope that goes throughout the record. Life, I guess. And it ends up with See the Light.”How do you like it? Does it seem like a good way to end the record to you, or would 21 Guns have been a better choice?
Ally Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Theres just something about the song that i can't help but love, can't pinpoint what it is though!
Agija Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 It's definitely one of my favorite songs off the album. Something makes me listen to it all the time.
Anja Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 I listened to the whole album when it got leaked except this one song! When I finally did on the day the album came out, I just lay in my bed, listened to this song on my headphones and this moment...I don´t know how to describe it. But it was kind of magical. I completely felt in love with this song in this moment and it just felt orgasmatic haha I think it´s a better song to end the album than 21 Guns. (And I actually like this song better than 21Guns)
theeulogy Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 I don't like See The Light better than 21Guns, anyway, this is the best way to finish the record. It's just like the way all your thoughts and emotions (that came with the other songs) follow.Like you're free, you have a hope still, you gonna see the light:)And this is what the whole album about, I think
spark in the night Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 it's definetly the peaceful song of the albumthe calm after the stormmy favorite lyric:"I drank the water, from a hurricane"
Clayish Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 It is just a great song, with a great meaning.Makes me happy.
Muttweed182 Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 It was a great way to end album even if it's not the best song on the album the meaning is what counts.
Princess Consuela Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 The more I listen to it the more I like it. I like this line especially:And I set a fireJust to see the flame
Haydée Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 My least favorite I think it is a good choice to end the album, but for me, the other songs just obscure (?) this one.Meh, Billie's voice is kinda annoying here.the same rhythm in the whole song but the chorus? No thank you.
music_that_is Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 It's so relaxing, one of the best conclusion songs on their albums.
.Militza. Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 I like it. And I don't really think 21 guns would be better choice, but that's just me. The great part of it is because this song is in the end, and it somehow gives some faith that everything's going to be better.A little glimpse of light through all the hard times of the album.
Boston Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 See the Light is a great way to end this album. The whole album reflects confusion, and See the Light looks positively toward the future, which is what the nation is doing with Obama. I couldn't choose a more perfect ending to 21CB.
Brian Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 I love this song too! i love how it has the piano from 21st Century Breakdown and just the way Billie sings "I just wanna see the light" brings a tear to my eye. It just sounds so sincere!
Jaymee!! Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 I love the feeling that the song brings. I can picture Billie walking around stage during the guitar at the beginning, running his hand through his hair and looking defeated, but complete and satisfied. It does have a perfect 'ending' sound to the song. The guitar fading out just makes me smile and breath a sigh of contentment. I love it, it's definitely in my Top 5.
amy_runs Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 I am in love with the begining.Well I crossed the river, fell into the seaWhere the non believers go beyond beliefI also love how they kept playing it on the basketball games!
KeRpLuNkXxX Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 The way he sings "need to know what's worth the fight" just before the guitar solo is amazing!
Jack96 Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 I think its a great way to end the record. its definately a better way to end than 21 GUns
EmmOuGR Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Nop,I think that's exactly the song to finish the album, with a more optimistic tone..
piratepalmer Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Yeah it's such an uplifting song I think; and I love the way he sings he's "t's" nicely at the end of "light". (/parent)
Kaddi. Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 It's the perfect end for an album like 21st CB. Most of the songs have a pretty negative mood, but this song gives something optimistic to think about. I really like that, it's a cool song. My favorite lines are probably "And I drank the water from a hurricaneand I set a fire just to see the flame"I don't know why, but I like them.
tapdancingowl Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 I don't think 21 Guns should have ended the record. I think American Eulogy should had, it would have been like the true end (death) of the record. Much more fitting. Still, I like See The Light, and I'm glad it's on the record.
