J'net Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 The opener to the third act, Horseshoes and Handgrenades seems to throw Billie for a loop. His comment:"Oh God. You read the lyrics to that one? I’m not sure about that song yet.” This is certainly a song with an attitude, but I love it! What are your thoughts about it?
The Disappearing Boy Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 definately a throwback to their roots if ever i saw one. its growing on me, though.
Ally Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 can't help but love this song "G-L-O-R-I-A" comes to mind everytime someone mentions it to me
Rita Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 I love H&H! It's my favorite song off the 21st Century Breakdown.
greendaytone Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 This is pure hardcore Green Day. Love it. Hard and furious. I think Billie said they wrote it about 5 years ago...
Ila Reto Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 i love it, i just love it. If you get FHT and Green Day, you mix them around in a bowl and then throw in a pinch of angry powder, this song is the result. whenever i hear it, it makes me want to burn a few bridges, almost as if Christian posesses me and i suddenly have genuine feeling of wanting to tell everyone to fuck themselves and then go on a destructive rampage. Irresistable to sing aloud. i just want to get ontop of a demolished building and scream it out at the top of my lungs and then blow my brains out. you can really sense christian's rage in this song, he's mad at gloria, he's mad at the world. everything he's been told is a lie, and all the progress he's made is just burned down. He's self destructive and manipulative and a real asshole, and he doest give a fuck! RAGE RAGE RAGE to the extreme.
Eirik Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 The effect on Billie's voice in this song annoys me (that's why I really, really want a HQ live version of it), but aside from that, brilliant.
theeulogy Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Oh, I love it so much! It's just like "what the hell are u doing, stop wasting ur time, keep on moving and no matter what do they think about it,it's ur life"G_L_O_R_I_A and I'm alive again!
SlappyDJ1 Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Some peoplemlove it some think its the weakest track on the album. I dont like it as much as the others but still awesome.
gmcloughlin Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 A great song to sing when you're in a bad mood Its grown on me so much. I love it now!Great to play along with
persons Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 this is probably my favorite song on the album, this and know your enemy. but this one's a little better .
ThrillerIOH11 Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 great song with a catchy as hell riff! i love the bridge part with the one guitar playing the ascending riff and the other decending-works so well together
Clockwise Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Really really energetic and angry song. It's one of the most powerful tracks
Heather! Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 It's so fucking angsty. I love the contrast of it in comparison to songs like Murder City, which is just desperation(obviously) and loneliness. But this, the time I get to this song when I listen to 21CB, it's refreshing. Newfound hope, or something.
Angela. Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 H&H is so full of rage. That song (if it is going to be played on tour) will be REALLY fun to sing along to.
Drink Drank Punk Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 This song is good to listen to while driving.
Palmer89 Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Can't listen to it, doesn't exist on the album for me, if I wanted ti listen to the Hives i'd listen to them.
