Discuss this song here.

This is another one of my favorites, although I do find the first and last (slow) parts rather dull after a while.

Love this song. I get the feeling the 'whiskey shots and cheap cigarettes' bit will be great live, everyone singing it.

really cool song.

'whiskey shots and cheap cigarettes' is one of my favorite lines :P

.. and yes, it's really cool live.

Meh, not my favourite song.

I like how it goes back to "dreamiiiiiiiin" the second time... It's in a lower key as well, so he sings it better (IMO)

I think this song is extremely relatable ,at least for me it is. One of my favorites.

I can easily say that this is the song that got me into the album.

lately with all the other songs, it's lost its power to me but it still gives me that rush every time "life before the lobotomy..." begins.

This song stuck out when I first heard the record. I love the melodies! It gives me chills

This wasn't a favourite of mine at first, I found it a bit kind of disjointed, but now the more I listen to it, the more I like it.

I had never really stopped to notice it before I heard it live, but when he sings that part the second time live, I get chills. It's just incredibly moving. And when he sang it in Central Park, it's like everything in the universe came together to make that moment in time simple perfection.

Well I'm not stoned

I'm just fucked up

I got so high

I can't stand up

Favorite song on the whole album. :)

Maybe because it made me cry like a bitch. Haha, but that line, "Dreaminnn I was only dreaminn of another place in time...where my familys from." <3

I love it.

"The brutality of reality is the freedom that keeps me from

Dreaming.."

Just beautiful, and that transition

Totally one of my favourites.

This is a great song. :) The guitar in the beginning before Billie starts singing reminded me of Don't Cry by Guns N' Roses the first time I heard it, for some strange reason. I honestly don't know why, but it did.

I can really relate to the lyrics, probably one of my faves on the album. When I first heard it, I was like, "oh just some ballad...whatever it's catchy I guess." But then that odd-timed guitar part kicks in and the songs just explodes into awesomeness. It pumps me up so much, and I really like how it eventually reprises back to the beginning.

the lyrics that always get to me in this song are;

"i'm not in love, 'cause i'm a mess".

the first time i heard those lyrics, i was just like "..woah".

this song is pretty much my favourite off the album, i think.

Agreed.

This song also reminds me of nights camping with my family and relatives, well the beginning part anyway.

It makes me want to learn how to play guitar, simply just to play this song for them.

Love the guitar, the lyrics, the voice, everything!

Love the opening lyrics to death, they are so meaningful to me!

This one really made me cry when I first heard it. The intro, faster part and when the last part kicks in, it just reminded me on so many things and it makes this song my favourite :)

I really love how the song is arranged. I think it's nice to have a very dreamy, surreal intro and outro, and have the middle be very harsh, fast-paced, and like "time to wake up!"

I think this song might be my favorite lyrically. They just work together so well. The line "We are normal and self-controlled" has always made me curious though, I don't really get it in the context of the song.
