J'net Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Last Night on Earth, as described by Billie:“Christian’s Inferno is like a subway ride to hell and you kind of end up in outer space with this.”... and as described by Mike:“It’s the most unapologetic love song.”What do you think?
Dai. Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 The lyrics are absolutely beautiful, although the music could have been much better, in my opinion.
Nova-Caine Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 It's beautiful. I've been listening to this over and over. Than man knows how to write a love song.
badwolf Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 The lyrics are absolutely beautiful, although the music could have been much better, in my opinion.I completely agree with this statement.I fell in love with this song. It's really beautiful. It's a perfect love song.

Marie_GD Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Can't we have a subforum in Green Day Chat where all of the specific songs topics would stay instead of all scrambled around in here?
otherplans Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Yeah, the fade out at the end of Christian's Inferno that continues into the beginning of Last Night On Earth gives you a really eerie feeling of coming out of a subway tunnel into a drizzly night. The static linking them is a really nice effect.
SlappyDJ1 Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 its ok. Its a slow song and Im not into those too much but its still awesome.
J'net Posted June 14, 2009 Author Posted June 14, 2009 Can't we have a subforum in Green Day Chat where all of the specific songs topics would stay instead of all scrambled around in here?We are currently discussing this idea in the mod forum. We haven't worked out all the details yet, so give us a little time .
.Brian Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 The lyrics are absolutely beautiful, although the music could have been much better, in my opinion.agreed.

Comrade Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 The lyrics are nice, but musically I think it's the weakest song on the album...Still like it though!
Agija Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 I love this song, especially the lyrics. It's so beautiful. I can listen to it over and over again when I feel sad.
Eirik Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 I really like what they did with this song in the Fox Theatre perfromance, with the star-like lights, coming out of Christian's Inferno and that.
Farah Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 at the begining i didn't tihnk it was that great,i just liked the lyrics a bit. but now i love it so much and it's kinda relaxing too xP

blc Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Beautiful lyrics. I think when your in love it fits and if your not, it makes you want to fall in love.
Luci_Minority Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 The lyrics are beautiful...and Billie's voice is very beautiful too I love the passage from Christian's Inferno!!Makes me wanna fall in love!!!!!!This is my future wedding song without a doubt!Good idea
norcalgreendayfan Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 This is my future wedding song without a doubt!Mine too, I been saying that since the first time I heard Last Night On Earth
Ila Reto Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 where to begin...well, i remember first hearing it on youtube from the Fox theatere. after listening to it on repeat for maybe 15+ times it had filled me up with so many lovey-dovey emotions that i even sent it to Steve, aka my Christian lol. But before he could see it we got a little mad at eachother for no reason and then i bust into tears because i just wanted to be in my little happy love bubble but it was already burst lol. And now whenever we text our little love notes to eachother i hear "i text a postcard sent to you, did it go through? Sending all my love to you. You are the moonlight of my life."LOL agreeing with almost every girl, this will be a song at the wedding for sure!what can i say? this man has a knack for writing love songs. always had since 1989 and always will. the lines "if i lose everything in the fire" really get to me. Christian is the Fire, and he's already seeing that he's so destructive that he may cause his own demise. He just wants her to know that no matter what happens, he loves her and he'll hopefully make it through so they can be together. But he knows that he's weak, she can sense it too. It's probably the calmest point in their lives (aka the album) but, just like the length of the song, it doesn't last long.
theeulogy Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 It's really beautiful but It doesn't touch my feelings so much, even thou I fell in love that time...could be better
