goldwing7500 Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Is it me or is Billie forgetting al lot of the lyrics to the songs on this tour? Like good examplesAmerican Eulogy: Bowery BallroomPeacemaker: DNA LoungeRestless Heart Syndrome: Fox TheaterKnow Your Enemy: SNL or Connan (I forget which one)
Spider Tre Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 he messed up the lyrics when they played Know Your Enemy at Stripped or whatever it's called
goldwing7500 Posted June 13, 2009 Author Posted June 13, 2009 Well he has messed up AI and JOS in Germany this year. No offense. I love GD, but I'm getting worried.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Well, they are new songs, plus he's written a shitload of songs in his life, it's probably very hard to remember all the lyrics.
Robin105 Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 There new songs. He's not used of playing them yet. Plus he's written over 130 songs (I checked on my ipod) so it's not a surprise if he forgets a few lyrics. He's a human being too. We all forget things
Fuzz Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Are you suggesting that maybe he's getting old and senile
goldwing7500 Posted June 13, 2009 Author Posted June 13, 2009 no andred, that's exactly the thing I am not saying. and yes Billiejoe1 we are human.

Not only does it show that it's really live. Sometimes they do it for a touch of Humor. I personally don't think Billie Joe would forget his lyrics, When he lives for his music.

I personally don't think Billie Joe would forget his lyrics, When he lives for his music. You should have seen him during the opening shows in April. There were plenty of words (of old songs) that he just lost. It's just common. you can't remember every lyric when you're not regularly practicing those songs. But yeah, there are some songs where he changes up the words a bit (there's that part on Welcome to Paradise, and others I can't really think of).
.Militza. Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Oh, I don't think this is worth talking about. So what if the poor man forgot some of the lyrics. Everyone does.Jesus...
Peace and Rainbows Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Give Billie Joe a break. Considering how he performs and what he writes he can mess up a bit, He's still an awesome song writer and musician

Faces yes, Names i'm really bad at for some reason.

Modern Zero. Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Well, Billie IS human. I agree with Peace and Rainbows. Give him a break. Any kind of performer, whether it be an actor or a musician will forget things while performing. I've been in theatre arts class for two years and i've seen a lot of people mess up their lines. That doesn't mean that they're bad actors or anything, it just happens sometimes. Your brain just freezes up and you forget. I remember seeing a production of the Christmas Carol over in Indianapolis, and there was this actor who messed up their lines. It's something that just happens sometimes. And they are newer songs that he's singing also. It's nice to know that he's not perfect, and he can make mistakes too. So I'm not too worried. He's going to perform a lot on tour, there's bound to be a time where he's going to mess up, it's not going to be 100% perfect.
J'net Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 What show was that at? I must've missed it..The first time I know of was the Webster Hall show. That's when someone threw him a cigarette, and he lit it up on stage. But since then he oftens says "I wanna bum a fucking cigarette" or something similar.

Oh wait, I can't find it on youtube, I might confuse it with another show then..
thenextsexpistol_mak Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Are you suggesting that maybe he's getting old and seniledid anyone notice that in one of the german performances, during ai he says somethin bout obama?
Nele Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 I don't think it really matters. I have over 150 songs by them on my computer and you just can't remember everything from every song. That's natural. And the songs you mentioned are all new and GD didn't played them live before...
Sister of Grace Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 well they are new songs..agreed! And how are they gonna remember all the lyrics to all their songs, its impossible. But if it happends too often it is a bit worrying
