I remember when Billie said in an interview that the main character of the record is really Gloria. The next time I listened to it I was looking out for which character each song was about and I was quite surprised how many more were about Christian, because Gloria still comes through as a really strong and important character.

Anyway when I was thinking about it, I considered the possiblity of it being about Gloria just because of Billie saying that . But in the end I definitely put Restless Heart Syndrome in the Christian category, primarily because like J'net said he's never sung a song in the first person as a female character. But I also think it's very much personal like everything he writes, I don't think you could write a song like that without it coming from some personal feelings. It's coming from his perspective through the character of Christian.
