Green Day's UK support?

People are going to be trying so hard to get into soundcheck that they're not going to enjoy themselves, I can see it now. That's why i'm not even going to try - so many people are going to sign up for the IC just to get in and they're still not going to, and they're just going to end up disappointed. I think people need to calm down a little bit - at the end of the day soundcheck is nice, but it's just an added extra and only a handful of lucky people will get in.

Thank you Tedifer I do think people are getting a little bit toooo excited, esp as we don't know the ins and outs of it all yet.

I am looking forward to the gigs and being with friends first and foremost anything else is a bonus.

I'm still gonna try, and if I do get in, it's awesome, if I don't, sod it, I still have the show to go to at the end of the day. Like you said, soundcheck is just an added extra.

Indeed. I'm just really grateful that I'm going to see them after waiting so long (seems like forever!). As long as Green Day are there and I am there, I'm happy.

I'm excited to be having some of the best experiences with some of the best people I've ever met.

Yeah, and the atmosphere will be immense. Awowfjoej I'm well excited now. It's something like 50 days till the Wembley gig (give or take a few days) so it's not long at all. :)

I think I'm meeting up with Nic, but that's it. Damn not being able to get tickets for the 23rd and 24th shows. Ah well.

Yeah, I just don't want anyone to end up missing out because they're worrying about this, i'm done worrying about anything now and just looking forward to the shows. I really can't wait, and i've waited long enough - missed the AI tour - so I don't want anything to ruin it now :) it's gonna be awesome, I know it is

the info I got was that "sound check partys" would be happening. once we get official confirmation about this (not that I dont think this is official) I`ll see about getting actual info about how this whole thing will work. this has to be worked out with the guys running the idiot club as well as the venues.

hang on... arent all UK tickets being posted out to people? its not a will call deal for us! I now mine are! I doubt it would make any difference any way. you`d just have to show an email confirmation that you had won passes and you`d get in.

Netty, only people who are resident in the country for each show are getting their tickets in the mail. I've received emails telling me I have to pick mine up at will call at 7PM the day of the show (I got them through the IC presales). Naturally, I'm stressed about this. If you could find out more about it in one of the emails you're sending, I'd greatly appreciate it. It doesn't seem like a great situation as it stands right now!

Prima Donna is main support for the entire tour. If anyone needs Prima Donna albums or vinyl, hit me up. I'm usually their tour manager, but I'm getting married 10/17. Flying out for Wembley and staying until Turin. We did Europe back in 06 with Texas Terri and the Masons, including the Wasted Festival. Prima Donna started out as Hypertention in '94 doing Green Day covers at the age of 9. It was a three piece Kevin, Dan and David (my brother). Funny how things work out. It's rare to see this type of chemistry in any band, you will be impressed.

Thanks so much for the info, and congrats on the wedding!! Unfortunate timing, but great news for both of you!

I'm looking forward to this - to say the least - and this just makes it better, imo. Kevin Preston is such a sweet guy - he (and the rest of Prima Donna) deserve this! :)

Woo. And I just calculated, 52 till Wembley. (I thinkz)

hahaha, they should totally do a show just for GDCers. It'd be wicked.

Hi, welcome to the forum and thanks for the information! I can't wait to see Prima Donna. I had planned to see them at one of their Oklahoma City shows earlier this year (I live in Tulsa) - but wouldn't you know it - I was out of town for both dates! It was a real disappointment, but now I'll get to see them seven times in the UK/Ireland!!! This is just great news, and thanks again for sharing (oh, and many congratulations on your wedding - you've chosen a wonderful day for it - my mother's birthday :) ).

who is jack? jack bauer?

Well, now I know ... :).

Same here. I have to pick up mine before the show but I got mine from Seetickets. They told me there was no refund in case they get lost on the way to me, that´s why I have to pick them up. But good to know I won´t be the only one in will-call line :D

Great news on the support act! I´m really looking forward to seeing Prima Donna live and I´m happy for them. It´s gonna be so much fun!

And awesome tour poster btw! I´m so gonna strip some off the street :D

sorry I didnt see this before. I dont think the Idiot Club has any control over this. its down to the individual venues so I can only suggest contacting them directly. I know it was an issue at some of the US venues with tickets being made available really late. I dont have a clue whether the UK (or any of the other european venues) will have any problems letting people have tickets. email the venues you are going to and ask them for more information. if you contact the ticket seller, you will get more "generic" info as it were I should imagine. if you go straight to the venue you stand more chance of getting a positive answer.

if you are stressing because of the sound check passes and how that will work, I cant really ask any questions until the details have been worked out by the site admin and they are ready to release the info. once they do I`ll be sending them questions every five minutes no doubt!

I hope people do realise that joining the idiot club doesnt guarantee sound check passes! we got enough abuse off people complaining about tickets to shows! and the rest they expected to get!

what was it? something like 50 people per venue got into sound checks for the US leg of the tour? and no doubt there will be the bands/record companies guest list of people wanting to get into these..... so how many tickets are they going to give away realistically? not a whole lot. join becuase you want to... and not just for this please!

its one thing reading abusive comments about the idiot club and how its works/doesnt work.... being stuck in a queue with people complaining about it and well........

Picture087-1.gif = me being polite. lol
