akirajlo Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Hey guys!I don't know about you, but i LOVE contests where you have to be creative and not be randomly picked from other entries to win contests, or post stuff on websites. I think we need to have more contests that are FUN to do and not a chore. If the GDA has another contest, i think a cool one would be to make your own Green Day music video either a song from their new album would be plausible and fun to do but you HAVE TO FILM IT yourself, none of that ripping off other peoples movies and the contest should give you about a month to do before the deadline. hmmm yeah that would be fun, hell i might just give something away myself to a fan haha

MassHysteria Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Rhapsody's Green Day Twitter Contests did a good job with the imagination thing. There was really only 2-3 that were luck-based. I really liked the one they did were you had to create a dating ad for Jesus of Suburbia. And they did have one that required photo entries.I personally don't have any ideas for this unfortunately, but I'd love to see them do such a contest on GDA.

I was getting bored of it after the 15th or so, but I pushed myself to keep going and ended up getting 31.I think there should be writing contests, so the people who aren't camera-whores can have a chance of winning some contests. Just simple stuff, like a story of your fantasy day of hanging out with Green Day or something.

I don't know how to make videos.thats why you get your friends and or family to help out, its a team effort to make a video, and you learn alot! almost all computers come with some sort of editing software imovie, windows movie maker, pinnacle ;P

akirajlo Posted May 28, 2009 Author Posted May 28, 2009 i've been listening to Peacemaker over and over again and i would totally do a spaghetti western style music video for it. LOL SO PICTURE THIS:We'd have the band in huge fake mustaches at a saloon playing the song on their old acoustic guitars and other spanish style instruments. And the story will revolve around 3 characters, EL BURRO, VENDETTA aka el burros lady, and EL TACO. The band would only be popping their heads out on the "ay" and "hey hey" parts randomly through out the video because i wouldn't want anyone lipsyncing the song. The song first introduces el taco (with the quentin tarantino style name introductions on each character) sitting at the pub ordering a shot, he looks over the right and spots something that catches his eye. camera moves over in fast forward and introduces vendetta el burros lady, she has on one of those pretty spanish dresses with the long tail in the back and a fan covering her face. she starts dancing beautifully (shes the dancer/entertainer at the pub and el taco is just staring at her and keeps cutting back to vendetta dancing. he drinks his shot slams it on the counter and goes over to her and starts hitting on her, and she seems to have interest in him too. just then outside a car pulls up and someones foot steps out and the camera reveals the mans face its el burro the pub owner and vendettas man, he opens the saloon doors and spots vendetta and el taco talking to eachother extremely close this infurriates him and walks up behind el taco and punches him square in the face. the song stops and the whole saloon stops being active. everyone turns around and looks over at the fight vendetta tries to get el burro off of el taco but he pushes her away slamming her on the floor so she grabs a bottle and hits him on the back. some random persons face comes into the corner of the screen and yells "PELEA!" (meaning fight) and the song starts back up again and everyone starts kicking eachothers asses and throwing people in to chairs bottles are flying everywhere (just like in bar fights in the movies) suddenly theres a gun shot and its el burro everyone stops, el burro points his revolver at el taco but another shot goes off behind el burro and he falls to the floor, it was vendetta, and she runs over to el tacos arms and those cheesy kisses like in movies from the 1950s and fade into black. haha i just had too much fun writing all that.
