Marie_GD Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 I saw this pointed out in another forum, and would like you all to see it:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mj9m9xNbVo0
captain peroxide Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 So when you say "listened to" you mean "ripped off," right? I'm kidding, it's a pretty common drum beat.
Marie_GD Posted May 25, 2009 Author Posted May 25, 2009 Hmmm, isn't Jason Freese related to their old drummer?Damn! True true... how could I have forgotten that?He is a permanent member of A Perfect Circle, The Vandals, and Devo, was the drummer for Nine Inch Nails from late 2005 until late 2008, and for Guns N' Roses from mid-1998 to 2001. Freese has appeared on close to 300 records.Jason Jeremy Freese (born in Orange County, California, on January 12, 1975) provides piano/keyboard, guitar, tenor saxophone, and backing vocals for Green Day. He is also a member of Green Day's side project Foxboro Hot Tubs. His brother Josh Freese plays drums with A Perfect Circle, Sting, The Vandals and Devo, and formerly with Nine Inch Nails and Guns N' Roses. So when you say "listened to" you mean "ripped off," right? I'm kidding, it's a pretty common drum beat.Yeah, I don't mean ripped off, but when I listened to it I was like woahh and was already hearing the guitar come in and the DO YOU KNOW THE ENEMY!! Hahahahahaha
iHasan Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Hey,the article says it was recorded in April and released in May.I'm talking about the album.so my point is KYE was released in Mid April so it's unlikely GD ripped NIN off.as a point of reminder we know Demos were reviewed by Alternative Press in early December and KYE was one of them.My point is that NIN might have actually ripped KYE for that 1,000,000 song and not GD ripped off NIN.Well I might say GD might have ripped Main Offenders by the Hives for Horseshoes and Handgrenades
gdpunk2 Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Verrrry similar, but I dont think they ripped them off
Guitar4Girl Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 I'm sure i've noticed little snippets of the album that sound like other songs. Someone was saying about a song by the Hives, I noticed that too along with another song of theirs.Although I don't think they're ripping them off, quite a few songs probably use that same drum beat.
Nova-Caine Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 I used to love NIN when I was younger. Closer is one of my all time faves.

Greenday_Aussie Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 This drum beat is used in that Chick Punk band too...shit, whats their name?
