Deniz. Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 How they should record? Are you think Butch Vig is good or should they record, if it would be possible, with Rob Cavallo?or it is better when they record alone like warning?I think, they should record with Rob Cavallo. I don't know why, but i don't like Butch Vig. Tell me, what you think.
Hermione Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 LOVE the sound of the new album. So Butch Vig gets a thumbs up from me
Jack96 Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Butch Vig gets my thumbs up but so does Rob Cavallo i dont know. if the album comes out like warning when they record alone that gets a big FUCK NO!
Hermione Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Oh yeah I have no complaints about Cavallo either, all the Green Day albums he worked on are fabulous. As for what they SHOULD do, they should work with whoever they think is right for the album in their far better informed opinion than mine.
Greenday_Aussie Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Butch is great, but by the sounds of Lights Out, Green Day should try to produce themselves next time for a change.Did someone say GD produced Warning themselves?!
Deniz. Posted May 22, 2009 Author Posted May 22, 2009 Butch is great, but by the sounds of Lights Out, Green Day should try to produce themselves next time for a change.Did someone say GD produced Warning themselves?! yeah, they produced it themselves.
RebelofSuburbia Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Rob Cavallo! Although I think 21st Century Breakdown is a great album, I sometimes do feel like it's overproduced just a bit too much. There's so many effects on Billie's voice that I sometimes get lost on where on the album you can actually just hear him sing with just his 'normal' voice you hear in songs like Waiting or Longview. And idk, I feel like Rob's sorta part of the crew, I didn't like it when they moved to someone else.
Farah Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 i don't really care... i love their new stuff with butch vig..maybe not as much as ALL the stuff they've done with rob cavallo but i still don't care.. love it anyway.
permanent_insanity Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 this new producer guy worries me abit, the album was too produced, but seeing as Cavallo isnt an option anymore(if I've read correctly) then maybe they should try a different producer next timebut they really shouldnt do what they did with Warning, never again
Miqui_Dee Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 I don't like Butch Vig. Since Cavallo isn't an option, or so I've been told, they should either fly solo or get someone else. I wouldn't mind them producing things solo.
Insomniac186 Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 I wonder why they didn't work with Cavallo for this album. I think I heard somewhere that he is no longer with Warner Bros.Personally, Green Day recording an album with someone besides Rob Cavallo is sacrilegious, unless Green Day are going to produce the album themselves. However, I don't think Butch Vig had a huge impact on the sound of recording, since the guitar and drum tones are pretty much the same as AI. The band obviously knows how they want to sound. If Green Day ever works with another producer, Scot Litt would be a good choice. In fact he almost produced Warning, but it fell through for some reason...
petrina_678 Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 they should work with whoever inspires them the most, and who they like best. Who are we to say what they should do when we are not even involved in the process with them and dont know what is going on . but Butch did a stellar job ! and Rob has always been great!I wonder why they didn't work with Cavallo for this album. NickD Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 rob doesnt work with warner. i'm sure if he was, they'd work with him.do you honestly think him being busy stopped him from working with them? green day restarted rob's career. he would wipe their ass if they took a shit and needed help. i think it's a contractual thing with him now that they can't
Kimpsu Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 A producer doesn't make songs for Green Day. It's not that big deal who they are going to record the next album with, I mean, the songs are the main thing, not the producer.Anyway, Butch made great sound to 21CB, and Rob's made great work with GD since they signed to Reprise, they both are good at what they do.
petrina_678 Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 im pretty sure rob a) isn't even a producer anymore and b) doesnt work with warner. i'm sure if he was one of those things, they'd work with him.do you honestly think him being busy stopped him from working with them? green day restarted rob's career. he would wipe their ass if they took a shit and needed help. i think it's a contractual thing with him now that they can'tuh hE IS still a producer! He just produced David cook's album and is working with Paramore. I think its great Green Day decided to branch out and try new producers. Like they said they didnt want to go back to their roots but they wanted to grow and improve, and having a new producer certainly helped them with that .

Depends on who they feel like using.
SlappyDJ1 Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 I like both. I liked the punk style better so I think Rob did a better job. I still love butch vigs job too.
