YORUGUA Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 "21st Century Breakdown" "Know Your Enemy" "East Jesus Nowhere" "Before The Lobotomy" "Last Of The American Girls" "Murder City" "Viva La Gloria (Little Girl" "The Static Age" "21 Guns" "American Eulogy (Mass Hysteria / Modern World)" "See The Light" "American Idiot" "Jesus Of Suburbia" "St. Jimmy" "Longview" "Coming Clean" "At The Library" "80" "Basket Case" "She" "Surrender" [Cheap Trick cover] "King For A Day" / "Shout" [isley Brothers cover] "Minority"Well, the real reason of this is that you may know that the band played At the Library and 80, old school songs, what I think is great... but on the other side BJ saids that he probablys don´t remember the lyrics! So... why they don´t practise those songs anymore? I mean, they owe that as a band to the all times Green Day fans who wants to hear great GD classics (like those ones and many mores), but with the evolution and finest of the band trough the years...I understand that they love to play their newest songs, that´s a good synthom for the band, the progress... but it seems like they are playing for those new fans (the majority of them no more than 15), and not surprises for us (I´m a Green Day fan since Kerplunk), and would be nice to see them play those songs but not because a fan request, that be included in their set list for the world tour!I mean, great bands too like Metallica, do it in their live shows.... played songs from their early stuff...What do you think?U have a point?By the way... 21st CB is GREAT!
nathan13 Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 They haven't performed 80 for a long time, of course he is gonna forget the lyrics!
YORUGUA Posted May 20, 2009 Author Posted May 20, 2009 Yes, but that´s the point! Why they don´t practise those great old classics to play nowadays!?I think that this should go in the other thread Mmm... where? jejeje
Eirik Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 ^Because since January 2006 they've been writing, recording and rehearsing new material?
DarrenDookie Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Wow, its been a while since they played At The Library.Nice to see them playin alot of their old stuff
nathan13 Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Yes, but that´s the point! Why they don´t practise those great old classics to play nowadays!?Mmm... where? jejejeCause' they have about 200 songs? They can't go through their whole catalogue all the time, when they are recording a new album.
son Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 its funny. i was there. he said that for 80 because a dude requested it when they walked into webster, he shouted it out.but he forgot the ending to longviewin b4 merge
Sara Armstrong Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 pretty good but WTF where is "time of your life"!?!?!?!?there is no more perfect way to end a show then with that song. :|edit: wow and no BOBD either? that's a huge surprise.is this even an official setlist though?
Anja Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 They haven't performed 80 for a long time, of course he is gonna forget the lyrics! They played it in April and he did not forget the lyrics
YORUGUA Posted May 20, 2009 Author Posted May 20, 2009 pretty good but WTF where is "time of your life"!?!?!?!?there is no more perfect way to end a show then with that song. :|edit: wow and no BOBD either? that's a huge surprise.is this even an official setlist though?I think the song nowadays to finish a show is Basket Case, with a lot of energy! jaAnd what abouit When i Come Around... mmm...
Sara Armstrong Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 I think the song nowadays to finish a show is Basket Case, with a lot of energy! jaAnd what abouit When i Come Around... mmm...that's true, but "time of your life" is just such a perfect ending imo, because you really do have the time of your life at their concerts lol.
NGDP Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 To anyone that was there, when they played At The Library, did Jason White play guitar too?
YORUGUA Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 To anyone that was there, when they played At The Library, did Jason White play guitar too?I love the videos with Jason on Christie Road... could you imagine the ¨cuarteto¨ playing songs like I Was There or Road To Acceptance? Could sound amazing! And Christie Road is one of GD greatest I think... so... why is not always on their set list?I mean... is classic!
son Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 To anyone that was there, when they played At The Library, did Jason White play guitar too?yeah, jason just played the rhythm chords, although it looked like he was playing just one string
YORUGUA Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 yeah, jason just played the rhythm chords, although it looked like he was playing just one stringOne string? Weird
YORUGUA Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 that's true, but "time of your life" is just such a perfect ending imo, because you really do have the time of your life at their concerts lol.But I like bands that are always showing differnt set lists and variety, and GD in AI tour was pretty redundant, like anyone knows what was going next. The same happens to me with his Heeeeeeeeeeee hooooooooo, is kind of stupid at this point... and finishing always with TOYL would be the same. And I don´t like the middle part of Minority, always the same, and what they do with King for a day... the covers between of Shout and that stuff...OH sweet set list!Green for a day? jajaja, that´s funny dude.I have a lot of green days in my life if you know what I mean! jajaja
YORUGUA Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 I thought this was supposed to be up on myspace?I don´t know, but would be awesome to see a live performance of those earlier songs, especially 80!I hope some intelligent guy records it in a cell phone or something!
WrenchNinja Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I like that setlist a lot! Happy to see some older songs on there like At the Library and 80.
YORUGUA Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 i dont like these setlists all that muchnone off of insomniac!I always thoght that GD should started a show with Panic Song, aj!
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 It's an awesomem setlist But yeah, they should play more older songs.(and noooo, no no no, don't get rid of She! Just ... dunno, add more songs.)
