American Eulogy

Sorry if anyone feels there shouldn't be a thread for this, but I think it deserves one. Feel free to close it if anyone thinks it shouldn't have a thread.

So who else thought that Mike did a really great job on his little part in American Eulogy? I loved the verses he sang, and I think it was a huge step forward for Mike. I feel like now that he has actually sang without Billie, I've realized how much I actually love his voice. It adds a new feel to Green Day for me, and I think this moment will be really special live. Hopefully Mike comes out on the little podium and sings his part, it should be great. The energy that he puts into it just blew me away.

Yea, I really loved it too. I think I actually like Modern World more than Mass Hysteria because of Mike. He has a different sort of voice, but I love it. And it makes up a little bit for how little he talks in interviews while Billie blabs on and on... and on.

I prefer Modern World to Mass Hysteria not just because of Mike's contribution, but because it's got a more "fun" melody than Mass Hysteria.

then again, i'm kind of in with Mike, so... yeah.

To me those verses sound a lot like a sped-up "Clash City Rockers", and I believe The Clash are Mike's favourite band, so perhaps he asked to sing that part because he really liked it.

Either way, epic win for Mike.

I have always said mike should sing more on their album tracks. he has a good voice, and it makes a nice change to hea him bust out a vocal or two.

I think he did a GREAT job. His voice is an awesome contrast to Billie Joe's. Kinda makes me wish they'd take the two-singer approach more often like Blink or Rancid...

Its cool because just after his verses, billie kicks in with his own verse/bridge, whatever it is in this song It wouldent be as cool if billie sang mikes verses

His voice is a lot more punky than billie's (gets flame shield), so yes, i love it! they shuld do 1/2 songs per album with mike singing
