Alan86 Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Just read this on NME http://www.nme.com/news/green-day/44732sorry if it s posted already"Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong has suggested that his band's forthcoming UK arena tour, set to kick off in October, could last up to four hours long. The frontman told Rolling Stone that the band were inspired to match lengthy gigger Bruce Springsteen for their forthcoming shows. He also admitted to suffering from nerves when he played material from the band's new album, '21st Century Breakdown', for the first timeHe said the shows could last "anywhere from two to four hours long. We want to give Springsteen a run for his money. I think his longest show is maybe five hours, I think Green Day's got six!"Speaking about Green Day's recent series of gigs in their native Bay Area by San Francisco, Armstrong admitted to being "terrified" of playing the new songs."It was terrifying, especially when you're playing all brand new songs from start to finish," he said. "It's kind of like playing your first gig all over again. It's about making your own memories before someone makes them for you."
Hermione Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Ha yeah I saw that on that Rolling Stone photoshoot video, I'm not sure he was being entirely serious . But I certainly hope so!
Ally Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 i hope he was serious...a 4 hour show would be awesome...even if i was deaf by the end of the night!
bass boy Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 i hope this is true. my second concert being 4 hours. a dream come true.................
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 It'd be pretty awesome if they're really going to do that
Astrid. Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 i hope he was serious...a 4 hour show would be awesome...even if i was deaf by the end of the night! If it is a temporarily deafness.. Ok, but I don't want them to ruin my hearing. I always have the famous 'buzz' in my ears after a concert. And that's enough actuallyWould be awesome if it's a 4 hour show. I think I have sleepy legs at the end and just want to fall to the ground
son Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 i hope this is true. my second concert being 4 hours. a dream come true.................tomorrow will be my first concert ever. i hope this is very true
RebelofSuburbia Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 well I certainly wouldn't mind it if that were true. I would be fucking exhausted though, I remember me & my friend after 2 hrs of Green Day four years ago

emmaILGD! Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 I just told my mum this, and she said "I'm not staying for 4 hours!", but I like the idea Long shows give more time for some old songs too.
norcalgreendayfan Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 I hope the US shows will be about 4 hours as well since the article only mentions about the UK tour because 4 hours of Green Day, yeah I can handle that and would be awesome too
toaster_poodle Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 If they could pull that off...for the entire tour, that would be nothing short of amazing. Hell the fact that they even want to give Springsteen a "run for his money" is pretty damn ambitious. I'm glad the Chicago date is early on the schedule, in case they burn out a little bit.
Harriet Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Oh I so hope this is true! 4 hours of Green Day, awesome!
Astrid. Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 well at the last concert i was in the front row for 2 hours in the middle of a mosh and my ears were fine. i think im going to sneak in a red bull or 2.Then you have great ears my friend Mines are always buzzing when I'm on my way back to home. And when I try to sleep.. Well, that's annoying to the most! One time I actually moved away from the front, Just because of the intense bass made by the drum
Jessayy Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 i really hope this is true would be really getting my moneys worth!!!
Guest 16PaperLanterns Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 you guys need some of these:I really hope that they'll make it 4 hours, even though I think Billie was kidding when he said that.
burnout_13 Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 i really hope this is true would be really getting my moneys worth!!!That's exactly what me and my mum said. It's true though, I want my money's worth! They bloody charge you enough for a ticket, I think a 4 hour gig would even make up for all the unnecessary "booking fees" and whatnot that the ticket vultures add on to bleed you even drier.

Sister of Grace Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 haha if they are serious about it, it would be bloody amazing
.:Whatsername:. Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Well if that's true, awesome. If he's just joking, damn you Billie Joe! Either way, I'm just glad I'm going to a concert this tour.
