Deniz. Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 It's a weird thought. I think in the refrain it sounds like the same o.odo you think so too? i am realy shocked
josh_oliday Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Eh a little. But I hear AC/DC-You Shook Me All Night Long in the chorus...
badwolf Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Well some bands inspired GD to write that song, so odds are it might sound the same.
novacaine_kid Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 I have noticed this. but i do think its unintentional. unless proved otherwise. there is always going to be similar sounding songs between rock bands
Mato Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Eh a little. But I hear AC/DC-You Shook Me All Night Long in the chorus...Yes, that was the first thing I thought when I heard it.
Kimpsu Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 hahah the chorus reminded me of KISS' Rock and Roll All Nite
14razorbacks Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 We could list songs little GD tunes sound like for ages.Alligator by FHT is exactly the same as the Kinks' 'Revenge' for instance. It just doesn't matter; that's how rock n roll music works.
peepee Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Nothing can be worse than when Offspring ripped off Green Day with their latest album. My god, that was like totally...they didnt even try to hide it. Terrible. Offspring died after that.
Lauren Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Nothing can be worse than when Offspring ripped off Green Day with their latest album. My god, that was like totally...they didnt even try to hide it. Terrible. Offspring died after that.what song(s)?
Waffles Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Eh a little. But I hear AC/DC-You Shook Me All Night Long in the chorus...Hahaha. Kind of.
Mellow Dramatic Jeff Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Well the beginning and end acoustic sounds like U2....Its just a mix of everything great ok. Its Green Day.
liquorhill Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 doesn't bad religion have a song called "21st century digital boy"?
Ally Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 i have that bad religion song on my ipod...never listened to it though...i shall do later though
music_that_is Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Almost all the songs on 21CB remind me of different songs, and probably their influnces..
Walking Alone Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 It's usually a mark of great music when you think it sounds like something but you can't pinpoint it as a direct rip. They're borrowing and being creative, not stealing.
Juan Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 ha, my friend noticed that the day of the leak, and we're BR fans too! It's cool, whatever
amy_runs Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 doesn't bad religion have a song called "21st century digital boy"?Yes
Juan Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Yesand it's awesome , but in the record that it is (well, both of them, but I'm referring to Against the Grain) it's probably like 8th best or so
Doug Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Yes, that was the first thing I thought when I heard it.hah Me too.
Robin105 Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 I don't know if they are Beatles references or not but in 21 Guns. He says Live and Let Die, and in 21st Century Breakdown he mentions Working Class HeroAlso about the offspring ripping off Green Day. After reading that post I thought about it and it does kind of sound like a Green Day record a little bit. Stuff Is Messed Up has almost the same drum beat as Longview at the beginning and even does that little guitar solo that Billie does live before the song starts.
