perfectpitchrob Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 thanks for posting this! Haven't seen this yet!
Haushinkaholic Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 So it does! Well spotted that man.To be honest, I hate music Journalism, in any art form you can't put a definitive value on a particular work, coz it's so subjective.I used to buy Kerrang every week, now I only ever buy magazines if they've got a major feature on one of my fave bands. And considering I only really love about 3/4 bands and one of them split up last year, that makes for very few music magazine purchases.I did however by last weeks kerrang Cover feature, how could i resist.Beautiful Billie. mmmmm
Ally Posted May 12, 2009 Author Posted May 12, 2009 Out of five?i think its out of 5...i haven't seen many get more than 4 in ages...yeah i'm pretty sure its out of 5
Haushinkaholic Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 yeah Kerrrang rate out of 5... Maybe Ian Winwood reviewed it, he had Warning as his album of the year in 2000 and was seriously upset and how underrated it had been.
Peel Slowly And See Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 A star from Kerrang is worth about what it's worth from Rolling Stone nowadays.
caralongmuir Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 That's fantastic news! And American Idiot only got 4!! But I suppose it depends on the reviewer!
chewychorizo Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Well of course they didThey had them on their cover and an interview.Kerrang are suck ups though.
Eirik Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Kerrang are suck ups though. Not really that different from every single other popular magazine out there then.
chickin'pickin' Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Kerrangs opinion is no more valid than NME's.But let's not jump to conclusions before we've read the friggin thing, eh?
Haushinkaholic Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Kerrangs opinion is no more valid than NME's.But let's not jump to conclusions before we've read the friggin thing, eh?indeedy on both accounts...
chewychorizo Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Not really that different from every single other popular magazine out there then. Yeah, true, but...Y'know, i just dislike Kerrang more than others. I used to get it for the posters, but now they have bands like GO:AUDIO and it's like who are they?
DeJennsitized Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Great news We don't get Kerrang here until Thursday, so I might talk a walk down to Tesco's to pick up a copy.
MrGreenDayUK Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Kerrang are always, always going to give Green Day 5 stars. They fucking idolise them. Which isn't a problem, you know, it might well be a bloody good album and of course K! have the right to an opinion.Just never expect a curveball from Kerrang though, that's all I'm saying.
klytaemnestra Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 yeah kerrang bum green day. 21cb is an awesome album though so thats cool.
Comrade Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Kerrang are always, always going to give Green Day 5 stars. They fucking idolise them. The only other Green Day album they've given 5 was Superhits. Oh and Alice: Go:Audio ftw!!!
MrGreenDayUK Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Yeah, true, but...Y'know, i just dislike Kerrang more than others. I used to get it for the posters, but now they have bands like GO:AUDIO and it's like who are they?I hate the way Kerrang used to be a metal megazine but now feature shit bands like YMA6, Go:Audio, Metro Station and whatever. It's fucking bollocks, these aren't even rock bands, just bubblegum pop concealed with guitars so little girls can go 'I'm a roockrrrrrrrrrr' and buy Kerrang. What happened to good music. Actually, 2000s have been poor compared to other decades for rock music. But recession makes good music- first truly great recession album, I reckon, is City of Thieves by Sonic Boom Six.Big Cheese FT actual W.
