dirnt286 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Many of you know Lawrence/ Larry Livermore as the founder of Lookout Records and close friend of Green day at the start of their career in the Bay Area punk scene. I just found this on Green Day.com, but he wrote a very nice entry in his blog about his thoughts on Green day's progression over the past 20 years and the new album Have a read, it's the new entry.http://larrylivermore.blogspot.com/

Sharmellow Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Thank you for posting.I just read it and it was very detailed and in some ways, inspiring. I'm glad he doesn't consider or at least mentioned that Green Day, like some of the Gilman residents, are total sell outs. Not that I think they are or anything like that.
Trina Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Yeah read this earlier. I love his blog. I love the way he writes. He's just an awesome man. (Plus he always adds in tidbits about Green Day and Op Ivy )Edit: and wtf, Tré has a gal??Hmmm...I had heard rumours of a man friend in his life but I guess they were untrue. :\But I kinda want to see this girl of his Hope she goes to an award show or something[/stalker]

sampy Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 oh man, that was an awesome article, larry knows what he's talking about. that was great reading, thanks !
The Disappearing Boy Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 that was a great article, thanks for posting! ive always being interested to hear what he thinks about the band after the whole sell out row in th 90s.
Jillie Boe. Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I'm guessing by all the comments he was generally 'positive' about the latest album. Well, I guess there's no point in wasting a minute of my life reading it then.
Nele Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Their songs might have been light-hearted, even a little silly at times, but they were dead serious about them in the ways that matteredI love him for that sentence.
RebelofSuburbia Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I read that yesterday and was stuck on his blog for at least an hour, I love how he writes.
Femme Gauche Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Yeah I like the way he writes, too. My mind strays to the story of little Laurie L XD.

norcalgreendayfan Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Yeah I read that yesterday, I really enjoyed it. His blog is great and I always love hearing his thoughts on the band. He gets them Well considering how long he has known the guys I would say he should be able to get them by now but it really is great reading his blow and hearing his thoughts on the band and other issues that matter to him
Mommy's Little Nightmare Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I love both of his new blogs. The review of 21st Century Breakdown, and the one where he goes to bat for them about not ripping anyone off.I really enjoyed reading what he had to say, considering he knew them back in the days before they were ever expelled from Gilman.
Peel Slowly And See Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 The headline for the review I'm writing is "Green Day Loads An Album With Fantastic Influences; Is There Room For Originality?"I don't want to waste words right now, but I'll express my full opinion on the matter soon enough.
Femme Gauche Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Wow, Mommy's Little Nightmare, thanks for mentioning that new one, it wasn't there before!
Peel Slowly And See Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Wow. This guy deserves mad props for name-checking U2 and Oasis.
Anja Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 I love his blog and pretty much everything he writes in there. Great and interesting entry
