steelthorne Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I saw that Billie Joe brought out Blue at the last couple shows, and to make things better it was the actual Blue and not a strat replica. Do you guys think that maybe he's using blue for a new song or two? Because that would make sense for songs like Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, or maybe The Static Age.you know?yes billie, we know
xVanessa86x Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I think he will use it for older songs and switch guitars for different songs.
Eirik Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 He uses it on 21st Century Breakdown and Before the Lobotomy, because those two are in Eb tuning (half step down).
Snorri Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 He uses it on 21st Century Breakdown and Before the Lobotomy, because those two are in Eb tuning (half step down). I was watching the live performances Green Day did on that Yahoo! and Pepsi thing and I saw that on Before The Lobotomy Jason had a capo... did he also tune his guitar down half a step ?
rage-love-life Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Uh, isn't Blue somewhere like 27 years old? But he'll use it for the older ones hopefully.
bass boy Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Uh, isn't Blue somewhere like 27 years old? But he'll use it for the older ones hopefully.yes, but it still sounds great!
RebelofSuburbia Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I saw that Billie Joe brought out Blue at the last couple shows, and to make things better it was the actual Blue and not a strat replica.sorry but it was, complete with childhood picture with VH1 logo on it xD
badwolf Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I think he will use it for older songs and switch guitars for different songs. He uses it on 21st Century Breakdown and Before the Lobotomy, because those two are in Eb tuning (half step down). What they said. ^
Ila Reto Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 i dont think it matters, as long as the guitar gets the job done. and honestly, i dont think he'd be bringing his original blue with him, he wouldnt want it to get more bashed up than it already is!that's what the replicas were made for!
Lauren Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Just because it's Eb doesn't mean he HAS to use Blue....Eb is over rated anyway... I mean seriously, what's the purpose? There barely is any.
Boston Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I doubt he's using Blue. It doesn't really jive with this type of rock.
.:Whatsername:. I think he's probably got that guitar locked up somewhere in his house, definitely not bringing it on tour. I don't really care but I guess I'd like him to use Blue (a replica) for songs like Basket Case and Hitchin' a Ride on the tour.
Zalex Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 sorry but it was, complete with childhood picture with VH1 logo on it xDI thought that was hilarious that it was a cap from VH1.Guess Billie Joe Armstrong watches his own biography on tv.i dont think it matters, as long as the guitar gets the job done. and honestly, i dont think he'd be bringing his original blue with him, he wouldnt want it to get more bashed up than it already is!that's what the replicas were made for!I always wonder though how does one replicate a guitar with so many stickers on it.i dont think it matters, as long as the guitar gets the job done. and honestly, i dont think he'd be bringing his original blue with him, he wouldnt want it to get more bashed up than it already is!that's what the replicas were made for!I always wonder though how does one replicate a guitar with so many stickers on it.
Psycho Britney Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Didn't he give the real Blue to his son or something?
Lauren Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Didn't he give the real Blue to his son or something?HAHA YEAH RIGHT.
Juan Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Just because it's Eb doesn't mean he HAS to use Blue....Eb is over rated anyway... I mean seriously, what's the purpose? There barely is any.singing in key.He uses it on 21st Century Breakdown and Before the Lobotomy, because those two are in Eb tuning (half step down). this
Lauren Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 singing in key.No purpose though. It's only a difference of a half step, so it only really matters if it's the highest note in your range, AND if you're fretting open chords.Other than that, you can just play different chords.
Juan Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 No purpose though. It's only a difference of a half step, so it only really matters if it's the highest note in your range, AND if you're fretting open chords.Other than that, you can just play different chords.it involves all the notes actually both lowest and highest, you see when you play half step up, you have to transpose ALL the notes you're singing
4whatsername8 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I think I might have read somewhere that he has used Blue on every single album at least once. So, yes. I'm sure he will at the shows, too - unless Blue is completely destroyed or something (which I sure hope it isn't)!
Lauren Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 it involves all the notes actually both lowest and highest, you see when you play half step up, you have to transpose ALL the notes you're singingI know that. I'm saying for songs like Basket Case, he can just play them normal tuning and just one fret lower. He's not playing any open chords so it won't change anything.
Tiffx Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Well I hope he uses it when he can. I wouldn't complain.
Peace and Rainbows Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 All his guitars are sweet. Blue is the best ya know, Frankly enough he can use what he wants it's still fucking amazing!
