Guest Brian Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 My brother sent me this link earlier which is pretty damn awesome. It's a thread on a forum for rack effects/amps etc... pro stuff.Anyways, the thread was started by Jasons tech and gives a run down of his setup for the new tours. Also lists the guitars he'll be using which are...Gibson R8 Historic Les PaulGibson Les Paul Standard (Eb tuning)'59 Gibson Les Paul SpecialGibson 335 - cool fact, this one has a piezo system installed for acoustic sounds. (link to the piezo install http://www.bcrmusic.com/repair_pages/Green...e%20install.mht - tech stuff... )Fender TelecasterAlso, one thing that he did say also was that during the Am Idiot tour they used a backing track for the Boulevard of Broken Dreams "choppy" tremolo guitar as they couldn't produce the same sound live. Here are some pictures from the thread. Click the link below to see more info. The amps have been modded like Billies. One is the same as the "Dookie" amp, the other is modded for nicer lead tones. Oh, I just noticed that someone asked the guy to provide details of Billie Joes & Mikes new setups with pics. Hopefully he will!BTW, please don't flood the thread on that forum with crap. http://www.hugeracksinc.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=57345ENJOY!

amy_runs Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 *sigh* he's giving up the red GretschI loved that guitar
Juan Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 *sigh* he's giving up the red Gretschnope. I think you're confusing the ES-335 to a Gretsch
Greenday_Aussie Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Wow, an R8. I think its Billies (most that Jason uses are I think) if you look at the photos of the studio, those are all of Billies I think. I think he has a Vintage Sunburst Les Paul Standard (hard to find) looks Identical to mine!
gdpunk2 Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 I did notice he was using an old black les paul from videos of the Berlin show
Guest Brian Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 LP Standard in black R8 Les PaulHe has a few "Tele's"... well actually one I've seen is a Telecaster Custom and the other is an Esquire (single pickup). You can see these pics on the FBHT website. ^Which song(s)?I'm guessin' it was an older song considering Billie is playing one of the Blue strats ( I doubt its the blue!). The older songs were in Eb tuning, I think pre-Dookie?Wow, an R8. I think its Billies (most that Jason uses are I think) if you look at the photos of the studio, those are all of Billies I think. I think he has a Vintage Sunburst Les Paul Standard (hard to find) looks Identical to mine!I seriously doubt it's Billies guitar... but do you have any links to the studio photos?
