Split Green Day / General

alright, the mods have been discussing this, and now we'd like your input. Do you guys think we should split Green Day / General. Things are getting a lot more busy, and most general type threads are being buried by the constant new Green Day things.

If you do think so, Green Day will stay at the top of the forum - but where should the "General" forum be moved to. Logically, it makes sense if we moved it down to the "Community" section of the site, with Off topic/Other Bands, etc.

If you think we should leave them, let us know why. We just wanna hear some solid opinions about this before we decide on doing it.

I vote yes, for now, because of all the GD news that's been popping up.

I voted Yes...and I've always sort of thought we should...but now thinking about it more, I'd say no.

It's like at the IC, for example...It makes it really annoying and redundant with all the Green day topics together...

If they were split, my guess is alot of people would only hang in one of the sections...

I know everything goes quite quick with them put together - but I kinda like it like that.

Also I might take pains to note that (unless we decide against it later) to my best knowledge, this is not gonna be a permanent concrete thing. It's primarily to deal with the influx of Green Day stuff surrounding the new album. When it quiets down a bit (I do realize how far ahead I am thinking) they could well get merged back together.

I used to be against it, but trying to keep up with all the GD threads when they're mixed in with General Chat is pretty much impossible, so I vote that we at least give splitting them another try.

Also I might take pains to note that (unless we decide against it later) to my best knowledge, this is not gonna be a permanent concrete thing. It's primarily to deal with the influx of Green Day stuff surrounding the new album. When it quiets down a bit (I do realize how far ahead I am thinking) they could well get merged back together.

yeah i think thats doable. it's also about a million times easier to bring them back together than separate them. So when things slow down too much, if everyone agrees that merging would be a better solution at that time, we can do it.

yeah, thats the other option besides moving it down to 'community'. it'd just be even more out of place under a "Green Day" section.

Well...I think for now they should be split, but definatly merged back together when the hype dies down again(Like 2011, so yeah thinking ahead lol)

This always comes up, and I always vote no. But I don't know, it is hard to find the Green Day stuff with others around.

I agree community is the logical choice, but it's sooo far down.

I voted for split them but merge them when things cool down.

I think it'd be waaaay easier for newer members who join for the Green Day stuff to not have to dig through General stuff for Green Day stuff. It'd be easier for everyone actually, not only new fans. I think splitting it is a good idea.
