Pan. Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 So I am one of the many people out there who completely lost interest in Green Day... who was absolutely bored with their music or anything that had to do with them. But after hearing some of the songs off 21stCB, hanging out in a GD-crazed forum, reading GD-related articles, and finding out I'll be able to see them live (and possibly meet them) for the very first time in my life....... I am very happy to say................ I have regained my interest in Green Day!And I mean it.So people who lost interest in GD.... have you regained it yet?
billie-joe-geek72 Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I never really lost in interest in them to begin with. But I have been listening to them a lot more now with all the hype about the new album.
Trotsky Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I never lost interest or gained an extreme interest, Green Day were always just a band that I listened to that I always liked but were never my absolute favorite.
Teenage Kicks! Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I never lost interest. The long break gave me and I'm sure other new fans a chance to get into their old shit ya know what I'm saying? See what they were about and now about.
Velocity Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I never lost interest in Green Day, but there were a few months about a year ago where I would hardly listen to them at all. But over the past three months or so I've been listening to them constantly. I can't even go a day or two without listening to them. It's almost like old times.
Bryn Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I can not say I lost interest in them. I am really excited about all the new news though!I did not come on here very often, but that was for a lot of reasons. SO maybe I lost interest in teh forum a bit, but I am glad to be back. I did not lose interest in Green Day though.
Trotsky Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 When the new album comes out (if it's good) I'll probably treat it like the best thing ever for about 4 days.
Pan. Posted May 1, 2009 Author Posted May 1, 2009 I won't say I'm a true Green Day fan again until I see them live......And I am hoping this new album will be better than expected.
Tiffx Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I definitely lost interest when all the AI hype was gone and Green Day dissapeared, so around about the end of 2005. I still listened to them a bit during 06 and I checked GDA every once in a while. But I found new bands and found new things to obsess over. It wasn't until last year that I discovered all of Green Day's side projects and then I came onto GDC and saw what an awsome community it was. I joined, found my love for the band once again and started getting excited about the new record. Now that the new record is coming out I've found myself listening to Green Day a whole lot more.
tapdancingowl Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I never lost interest. I just found different bands that related more to my life, so I put Green Day on the back burner for a while. Every now and then, I'll listen to their stuff, but I am not as crazy as I was when AI came out. I still read some articles, but I don't watch every new video that is put up on YouTube, and I don't know if I'll see them in concert this time around.
rage-love-life Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I used to be slightly obsessed, then lost interest for a while, but with the album coming out and interviews, I regained my interest and love for Green Day.
Supermodel*Robot Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 i am definitely going back to who I was four years ago. I've been listening to their old stuff a lot more. I'm actually excited when I see news about them or when people post songs, etc. I think the tour dates really made it all seem so much more real. But I'm glad I'm not the freakishly obsessed teenie I once was. At the end of the day, they're just people & I don't need to know what they eat for breakfast. All I need is their music.
stxrlesseyes Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Just because they haven't been on TV in about 4 years doesn't mean we haven't lost interest
Bryn Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 When the new album comes out (if it's good) I'll probably treat it like the best thing ever for about 4 days.A whole 4 days? Wow.
Muttweed182 Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Just because they haven't been on TV in about 4 years doesn't mean we haven't lost interest DOUBLE NEGATIVE!!!!!!!!!!! So you have lost interest
Pan. Posted May 1, 2009 Author Posted May 1, 2009 Just because they haven't been on TV in about 4 years doesn't mean we haven't lost interest People lost interest. Some just don't want to admit it. I openly admitted it. When a band doesn't release any new material in 4 years, it becomes quite difficult to regain interest in them. But I'm glad the wait is finally over.
stxrlesseyes Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 DOUBLE NEGATIVE!!!!!!!!!!! So you have lost interest :wink:Hmm. I've never been good at english so meh.People lost interest. Some just don't want to admit it. I openly admitted it. When a band doesn't release any new material in 4 years, it becomes quite difficult to regain interest in them. But I'm glad the wait is finally over. You never had like, spurts of interest in them though? For example, you wouldn't listen to an old cd and then listen to it over and over for a week?
Serpent72 Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I've regained A LOT of interest in them... they got me into music and were my favorite band, but I eventually got into other bands, and other types of music, (I'm a metal freak now), but next to Killswitch Engage, they're my favorite band now.
Pan. Posted May 1, 2009 Author Posted May 1, 2009 You never had like, spurts of interest in them though? For example, you wouldn't listen to an old cd and then listen to it over and over for a week?Hun, you had no idea how obsessed I was with these guys from late 05 through early 07. It was insane. That's all I have to say. Haha. Only my old friends here have witnessed my obsession. I really needed to go to "GD Rehab."
stxrlesseyes Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 No, I understand what you mean cause that's how I was with MCR. And for the year or so I would not listen to them at all, just in little spurts. I'd hear a song off Three Cheers then end up having the cd on repeat for a week.I was just trying to understand whatcha meant, as in you haven't really listened to Green Day in a long time
Spider Tre Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 i've never lost interest. they've been my favorite band since i first heard the first song from them (American Idiot)

That's how much I didn't like them anymore.
Drink Drank Punk Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I regained interest when I saw them last month. Before that I didn't really listen to them much anymore but now I'm pretty excited for the new album.
