Jaymee!! Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 So this is the second part of the interview I managed to record (the first part being the sexy rubdown/kiss lol).I'm fairly certain there's nothing TERRIBLY new, but it's a video of the band actually talking about what they thought of it and we haven't had one of those yet. It was featured on Much Music on Monday night.
The Disappearing Boy Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I still think the idea of an american idiot musical is a terrible one, but thanks for posting
Guest Hayley Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I still think the idea of an american idiot musical is a terrible one, but thanks for posting It's not that bad. Anyway thanks for posting.
Mrs. Nobody Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 thanks for posting (and recording)did they show a preview? or was it another show?
Nele Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I still think the idea of an american idiot musical is a terrible one, but thanks for posting what he said.
MusicalDeviant Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I still think the idea of an american idiot musical is a terrible one, but thanks for posting Agreed. I don't need to see a bunch of hack actors butcher Green Day songs whist trying to "act."I could do that on my own in my bedroom mirror. And that would at least be free. And in that video Mike doesn't seem to buying any of the shit he's saying. He's lying through his teeth.
Katarina. Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Thanks for posting So, this is the second part of that interview.. hmm.. bahaha Still have to laugh about the first part xD
apocalipstick Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Cool. I'm kind of excited for it...but once I saw the plot I was really confused. Something about suburban kids traveling out to the middle east? That's gonna be....interesting. I never would have imagined that from listening and looking into the plot of the album.

I never would have imagined that from listening and looking into the plot of the album.Well, this guy Mayer said something about making up stories for this version, so I'm supposing he's taken some artistic license to make it a more straightforward storyline. American Idiot goes back and forth in time, memory lives side-by-side with the present, and for me, that's part of why it's so spellbinding. I feel like some of that multi-faceted sense of time could be lost in making it into a linear story with something as literal as sending a character off to the Middle East - which is nowhere in the album - but who knows, maybe this guy has some great ideas.
mad hatter. Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I still think the idea of an american idiot musical is a terrible one, but thanks for posting Same here. I absolutely hate it.But yes, thanks for posting. (:
ScreamsInSilence815 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Off topic a bit- Spring Awakening is one of the best musicals EVER. It's touring next spring and coming to a theater near me, you can bet I'm going.Back on topic- I had a feeling something like this would happen with American Idiot. It's almost like bringing my two biggest obsessions-Green Day and Broadway/Musicals together in one. I wish I could see the actual production, though.
Hermione Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Yay thanks! I'm not a fan of musicals but should be interesting to see how this turns out. Well, hear about it anyway. Gotta admit the suburban kid going to the middle east thing make me think of the Wake Me Up When September Ends video, and that isn't a good thing
