watsername182 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Green Day's 'baby blues'2009-04-27 Green DayGreen Day is suffering "post partum depression" after the release of their new album.Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong says the band is so attached to '21st Century Breakdown', they had trouble releasing it.The singer told Britain's The Sunday Times newspaper: "It's kind of like having post-partum depression. I finally left the album about two weeks ago. It has literally driven me crazy, but there is definitely a side of me that loves the chaos."You can end up out-thinking yourself, second-guessing, triple-guessing. You can chase your tail making a freaking record, especially with all the time we took off in the past three years, being at home and all that."Home can make you feel a lot more humble than being on the road. You know, 'Hang on, I had this dream of being a rock star!' Well, I may have made this grandiose record, but I've got to take out the recycling, too."Armstrong, 37, bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tre Cool recently admitted they were nearly "killed" making their new album.Describing how determined he was to better the band's last record, Armstrong said: "This is the album that could have killed us. We had set the bar so high with 'American Idiot'."We all became sick as dogs. I was close to being hospitalised but they caught me in time. I had the boogie woogie flu!"© BANG Media InternationalSourceSorry if this has already been done.
