xVanessa86x Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 I would recommend Warning because the songs are outstanding and just fantastic altogether... sorry for that other post I posted it before I was finished so this one I changed. Warning also has a mixture of different sounds like how on Misery there is a dramatic tone to it and how Church on Sunday is so upbeat. I think it's just creative because there is a whole bunch of different instruments being used.
Bryn Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 "Warning" I think it displays a little bit of everything Green Day can do. Second I would recommend "Nimrod", same reason as listed above.
Muttweed182 Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 American Idiot first defiantly not just cause it's my favorite album by them but because it will get to use to the new sound. If I showed them the other ones and they loved it they might have a hard time getting used to the new sound.
gd86arg Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 to know green dayInternational Superhits, it's obvious (?)
mplsloseroftheyear Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 i would have to concur. insomniac was and still is their best album.
xaristotlex Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 I definitely wouldn't recommend any of their albums to someone who'd never heard anything by them (of course, this hypothetical person would have had to have been living under a rock for the past decade). I'd choose a couple good songs that represent their different styles and make a mix CD.
.:Whatsername:. Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Honestly it'd be a tie between Nimrod and American Idiot. Nimrod is the "old" Green Day, the stuff a lot of older fans prefer to the stuff Green Day is coming out with now. But American Idiot is a masterpiece, it's mature and I dunno it's just in a whole other league compared to their other albums. So it's a toss up between the "old" Green Day and the "new" Green Day. I'd probably just tell them to listen to both.
4whatsername8 Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Personally, I would say Kerplunk!, but only because it's my favorite album; it's really different from their current style, though. I guess to get a feel of the band, International Superhits!
M3G4N Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Kerplunk! If they like that, they'll like anything Green Day makes.
Dookie93 Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Dookie, and Nimrod. I love both those albums, and I think a new listener would love them too.Dookie.Haha yep Courtney love's Dookie
rootbeersoup Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 I don't care, just don't introduce them to this place
Starbug Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 I don't care, just don't introduce them to this placeYou'd probably be happy if they just closed the doors now and didn't let anyone new in, right?
Peel Slowly And See Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Warning:. No contest. Nimrod is too ehhhhhhhhhhhh in places and it could shy them away, and Warning: is dynamic enough to hold the listener's attention. It takes a bit from every other album they have, so the listener will understand what the band is all about after listening.
Guest Billy Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 You'd probably be happy if they just closed the doors now and didn't let anyone new in, right?this place is addictive and awful.
