Hellcat Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 was just wondering if 21cb is green days last album on their contract with reprise.i do remember reading something like a 6 album deal like 9 years ago or something.its just something i thought about now at midnight.if theres already info on this feel free to lock.
Juan Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 they got resigned after Shenanigans, I think. I am probably wrong
The Disappearing Boy Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 i heard this somewhere, but i guess it was a 6 record deal in 1994, starting with dookie. i assume it will probably be sorted out after the tour is over.they got resigned after Shenanigans, I think. I am probably wrongai was released on Reprise, i believe.
Juan Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 ai was released on Reprise, i believe.I mean, in their original contract it was supposed to be until shenanigans, then they got resigned by the time AI got out, more like before though
The Disappearing Boy Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I mean, in their original contract it was supposed to be until shenanigans, then they got resigned by the time AI got out, more like before thoughoh wait, i getya. but i have no idea.
Juan Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 oh wait, i getya. but i have no idea.well if they signed in 1994 a six record deal then it'sDookieInsomniacNimrodWarningIS-HShenanigans that's the math done
Spider Tre Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 well if they signed in 1994 a six record deal then it'sDookieInsomniacNimrodWarningIS-HShenanigans that's the math donethat's 6 records right there so yeah it's more than likely they resigned
dallasthemenace Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 superhits and shenanigans dont count. they were previously issued material. they were originally signed to a 5 record deal when they signed for dookie. 5 records meaning NEW material. superhits and shenanigans were basically money makers for the record company in case their 5th album of material tanked and they dropped the band...because no one was really sure before AI, with warning being the last album of new material...that record bombed, commercially speaking, so warner was essentially trying to squeeze every drop of cash it could from the green day tree, just in case. so their track record looks like this...dookieinsomniacnimrodwarningamerican idiot...and after the retarded success of AI, im sure their deal was either extended or renewed for ___ more albums.its funny how if AI had been, lets say, on par with warning as far as commercial success, that we'd probably be waitin for the new GD album to be coming out on adeline...
The Disappearing Boy Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 you folk keep saying resigned. you mean re-signed, thats where i was getting confuzzled
