Fuzz Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showb...icle2393003.ecePretty damn good read
Teenage Kicks! Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Indeed“You can find as many meanings in it as you like, or you can just crank it up, roll a joint and rock your f****** balls off.” FUCK YEAH BILLIE! FUCK YEAHHHHHHHHH
Colin Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Out of all the songs I heard, Know Your Enemy hits hardest. It’s a furious punk chant that sounds like the band are leading an army into battle.Propelled by Tré hitting the hell out of his drum skins, it recalls the energy and anger of The Clash with a pummelling chorus. It’s the best song of Green Day’s career.i disagree.great read though.
amy_runs Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 That was great! I loved 'But it was tough. You just have to keep ignoring the voices in your mind, telling you that you suck.'
rymenocerous Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 great article!yeah but i disagree with KYE being their best song ever.
Boston Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 The information was good, but I hate The Sun's writing style. Three years in the making, 21st Century Breakdown was no easy ride for Green Day, who knew they had to take it to the next level creatively or never make another record again.really?
Guest n o n a m e* Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 "I pushed my voice to do things it’s never done before." awwh, i can't wait to hear this album alreadyyy..
Roxy. Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Billie Joe explains: “I liked the three acts as I work in three parts. I have dual personalities, but I’m on medication so that’s okay.uh, that's dangerous. coming from The Sun, tomorrow's headline might be "Is Billie Joe bipolar?"
Boston Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 uh, that's dangerous. coming from The Sun, tomorrow's headline might be "Is Billie Joe bipolar?"I thought that! I laughed at it, because it was obviously a joke, but people who aren't familiar with other interviews of his may not.
farley drexel hatcher Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I thought that! I laughed at it, because it was obviously a joke, but people who aren't familiar with other interviews of his may not.It didn't sound like a joke to me. But then The Sun do have bad ways of reporting things.
Hermione Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I hate The Sun's writing style. really? The information was good, though.Ha that's well dodgy. As is the Know Your Enemy being their best ever song part Yeah the stuff from the band is really interesting if you ignore The Sun's input though. I'm gonna buy it tomorrow, Friday also has Ally Ross's TV column, the only decent thing in that paper.
Marie_GD Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 How do they look back at their change over the years?Billie Joe says: “Well the real Green Day died years ago. We killed them off.”And now?Tré says: “With 21st Century Breakdown, we’re saying something new again. And dissecting it all may, and will, drive you nuts.“You can find as many meanings in it as you like, or you can just crank it up, roll a joint and rock your f****** balls off.”
tq6993 Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 God, eveything The Sun interviewer said made the record seem like it's going to be terrible. I know it will be good though, cuz all of Green Day's records are good!
J'net Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showb...icle2393003.ecePretty damn good read Hahaha - after filtering out the Sun rubbish, I quite enjoyed this. I'm pleased that they used so many direct quotes and let those speak for themselves.
Fuzz Posted April 24, 2009 Author Posted April 24, 2009 It didn't sound like a joke to me. But then The Sun do have bad ways of reporting things.I'm sure it was a joke. But yeah, the Sun isn't particularly good at writing.
TheBullwinkle Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 That's awesome that "East Jesus Nowhere" was based off of Religulous. Bill Maher + Green Day = Sex Bawm.
Fuzz Posted April 24, 2009 Author Posted April 24, 2009 That's awesome that "East Jesus Nowhere" was based off of Religulous. Bill Maher + Green Day = Sex Bawm.I don't like Bill Maher very much. I don't really think his humor is really that funny. But i still haven't seen that, and I do want to.
TheBullwinkle Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I don't like Bill Maher very much. I don't really think his humor is really that funny. But i still haven't seen that, and I do want to.Before I saw his show, Real Time, I didn't like him either. But Religulous is a good flick, you should check it out.
pooldude256 Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 i disagree.great read though.Yeah I think often critics try to hype things up to a greater level than they are actually on.KYE isn't their best song. It's a great song, but not their best. Not even the best on the record, according to those who have heard it live.Good read...yeah.
